NIRFlex® N-500 for corn products analysis
Customer: Xiwang Sugar Holdings Company Limited, China
Xiwang Sugar Holdings Company Limited is a leading corn processing enterprise in China,
focusing on the development and production of starch, sugars, and corn products. The group
is the largest manufacturer and supplier of crystalline glucose in China. The group successfully
developed crystalline fructose in 2007 as the first manufacturer in China. It was recognized
as the “top 20 Enterprises in the Starch Sugar Industry” in 2006 by the China Fermentation
Industry Association, and also honoured as the “Town of Sugar in China” in 2007 by the China
National Food Industry Association.
Application: Analysis of corn products
The contents of moisture and protein in two main finished products, corn gluten meal and
corn gluten feed, are measured with a measurement error of ±0.4 %. The goal is to achieve
total product quality control through rapid, highly accurate measurement, so that every finished
product can be measured in no more than 1 minute instead of doing random testing.
Equipment: NIRFlex® N-500
The N-500 meets the customer’s demand very well: The parameters can be measured simultaneously in less than 1 minute. Thanks to its patented polarization interferometer and the powerful chemometrics software NIRCal, the N-500 works perfectly and is not sensitive to mechanical disturbances, even in rough environments, and it also delivers high accuracy.

Implementing the NIRFlex N-500 speed up the measurement of finished products greatly, from
several hours to only 1 minute. In addition, the measurement error resulting from measurements
by different analytical staff was decreased. Assigning different levels of authority enables the
managers to manage the instrument very conveniently.
