Who was Saint Patrick?
Saint Patrick was born in Roman Britain in the year
AD 387. When he was sixteen, pirates kidnapped
him and sold him as a slave in Ireland. He was there
for about six years and he became very close to
God. In a dream, God told him to return to Britain.
He escaped and went back home. He then went to
France and studied to be a priest. In another dream,
the Irish people asked him to come back. In the year
433, he returned to Ireland and he helped to convert
the Irish people to Christianity.

O Danny Boy
O Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side.
The summer’s gone, and all the flowers are dying.
’Tis you, ’tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer’s in the meadow
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow.
’Tis I’ll be here in sunshine or in shadow.
O Danny boy, O Danny boy, I love you so.
