University of Phoenix ‐ Prior Learning Pre‐Evaluated List
Credit awarded based on the recommendations in this guide will appear on the student's transcript using the course code PEL/299 or PEL/399.
Credit recommendations listed are a recommendation, not a guarantee. Application of credits to a student's program may vary as a result of program requirements, credit deficiencies, and/or the current policies of Prior Learning Assessment or the University of Phoenix and its subsidiaries.
Appropriate documentation must be provided and received while within the evaluation process to be eligible to receive the credits recommended. Please see the PLA website or the specific training provider to determine the documentation requirements.
Only coursework submitted from the indicated training provider will be eligible to receive the credit recommendations below. All others will require official proof of completion and official proof of hours and will be subject to evaluation per PLA policy.
No pre‐licensure or pre‐certification coursework will be accepted unless otherwise indicated under a specific training provider/section of the guide.
Continuing Education coursework may be submitted for additional credit unless otherwise indicated under a specific training provider/section of the guide. Official proof of completion, proof of hours, and proof of modality will be required.
PLA credit can be used to waive out of core or required coursework in some programs. A valid copy of a waiver request must be submitted. Certificate must be within 10 years of current enrollment agreement sign date for most programs. Some programs have additional requirements. Please contact your academic counselor for program specifics and limitations.
Duplication ‐ when this word is used, it means that an item on the pre‐evaluated list duplicates the content of another course or item. PLA will not award credit for certifications or coursework that duplicates the content of credits earned through PLA, transfer credit, or University of Phoenix coursework. As such, if duplication occurs, the credit award will be reduced.

Formerly known as: National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD)
An official copy of the FINRA score report showing a passing score for the license must be provided to receive the recommended credit.
Students can obtain copies of score reports by choosing one of three options: contact the firm they are registered with for a copy, call FINRA at 301‐590‐6500, or visit the FINRA website at www.FINRA.org to complete an online broker check. The full report is required, not just the first page. The Series 11 leads up to the Series 7. A total of 3.0 UD credits will be awarded for both licenses.
The Series 37 & Series 38 is the Canadian version of the Series 7. A total of 3.0 UD credits will be awarded for all licenses.
The Series 8 exam is no longer offered. It has been replaced by the Series 9/10 exam. Credit will only be awarded for either the Series 8 or the Series 9/10, not both.
UOPX Pre‐Evaluated Prior Learning List 11/30/2015
Both the 9 and 10 exam must be completed for the credit award. If only one exam is completed, no credit will be awarded.
A total of 1.0 credit will be awarded for the submission of both the Series 30 and Series 31 to avoid duplication. The credit will appear on the student record as 0.5 UD for the Series 30 and 0.5 LD for the Series 31. If credit has already been granted for one license and the second is submitted at a later date no subsequent credit will be granted.
The Series 66 is a combination of the Series 63 and Series 65. Credit will either be granted for the Series 63 and Series 65 or the Series 66, not all to avoid duplication.
Both the Series 86 and the Series 87 must be completed and submitted to receive the credit recommended.
BSM v. 003 students can use the Series 6, 7, 22, 24, 51, 63, 65, and/or 66 to fulfill the UD Business/Management Elective category. Licenses must have been completed in the last 10 years to be eligible. If the credit award exceeds the 15 credits for the UDBUSELEC category, the remaining credits may fulfill deficiencies in the Interdisciplinary/Elective categories.

State Insurance License
Only major lines of authority will receive credit. Prelicensure for major lines of authority is not eligible to receive credit as the credit for these items is assumed in the credit award for the license.
An additional recommendation of 1.0 credit is made for each additional major line of authority not identified below. In order to be eligible each line must be approved by the issuing state and must not duplicate previous lines awarded. A valid copy of the insurance license from the issuing state is required. All major lines of authority listed on a valid license are eligible for evaluation for possible credit. Sublines are not eligible to receive credit. Pre‐licensure for sublines may be submitted with official proof of hours and proof of completion. A maximum of 1.0 LD elective credits will be awarded for each subline.
Non‐resident licenses are not eligible to receive credit. The implementation of a single insurance registry via the NIPR has resulted in all states issuing complete reciprocity with all resident licenses. As a result no credit will be awarded due to the duplication.
License verification can be obtained via state website for most states. To find your state website for verification please see the following link: http://www.get‐
insurance‐quotes.org/state‐insurance‐departments.html
Some states have moved insurance license verification to the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR). To find verification information please see the following link: https://pdb.nipr.com/html/erlStates.html Continuing education coursework may be eligible for additional credit. Official and verifiable proof of completion, proof of hours, and proof of modality for all continuing education coursework is required to award credit. Additional credit can be earned with the submission of all real estate continuing education coursework. Official and verifiable proof of completion, proof of hours, and proof of modality for all continuing education coursework is required to award credit. Oklahoma ‐ A Provisional Sales Associate is a sales associate who has only completed half the required coursework for licensure. If a Provisional Sales Associate is submitted a total of 1.0 LD credits may be earned however a total of 2.0 LD credits will be earned for both the Provisional Sales Associate and Sales Associate licenses. South Carolina ‐ A Provisional Salesman is a salesman who has only completed half the required coursework for licensure. If a Provisional Salesman is submitted a total of 1.0 LD credits may be earned however a total of 2.0 LD credits will be earned for both the Provisional Salesman and Salesman licenses. Credit can be awarded once for all real estate license types: Salesperson, Associate Broker, and Broker (or corresponding type under state specific title). The only exception is the Colorado Independent Broker and Employing Broker. These are both broker licenses however they require additional coursework and experience. As a result, credit will be granted for both if submitted.

Additional endorsements can be earned for the CWI and SCWI. Official and verifiable proof of completion must be provided for each endorsement to receive credit. All Codebook endorsements are exams. Credit will be provided with official proof of successful completion of the exam.
The CWI and CWE are obtained through the same examination. CWI certifications requires completion of the Codebook portion of the exam. A joint exam may be taken or the exams may be taken individually.
The CWE requires completion of the Certified Welder before certification can be obtained. The credit award for the CWE reflects the combination of the CWE and the Certified Welder. If credit was awarded for Certified Welder in a previous submission, the credit award will be reduced. Successful completion of the CAWI, CWI, or CWE must have occurred post high‐school in order to be eligible to receive credit. If date of completion is prior to high‐

State Cosmetology Licenses
A valid copy of the state license must be provided to earn the credit recommended.
The below credit recommendations are only for students who have successfully met all state requirements and earned a state license. Students who have completed coursework but not earned a license will need to submit any coursework for an in house evaluation with official and verifiable proof of completion, a breakdown of hours, and modality for each course.
No credit can be earned with the submission of pre‐licensure coursework. All pre‐licensure training is assumed in the credit recommendation.
Additional credit can be earned with the submission of all continuing education coursework. Official and verifiable proof of completion, proof of hours, and proof of modality for all continuing education coursework is required to award credit. All instructor licenses require an initial license in order for the instructor license to be issued. Any duplication between the licenses was removed prior to credit being recommended. Students may earn credit for both the initial license and the instructor license in each area. Different titles may appear in different states for the Cosmetology, Esthetician, and Nail Technician licenses. PLA will need to verify that the content is the same in order for credit to be awarded.
Credit can be earned for both the Maryland Cosmetologist License and the Senior Cosmetologist License. There are different experience, exam, and classroom requirements.
