Name Date Class C21L2 MiniLab LESSON 2: 20 minutes How does migration affect population size? Your class will model a population of birds that migrates during the fall and the spring. Procedure 1. Read and complete a lab safety form. 2. Begin at the summer station. Record in the Data and Observations below the size of the bird population represented by your class. When your teacher signals, move to the fall station. 3. Take a piece of paper from the jar. If the paper has a minus sign, drop out of the game. If it has a plus sign, bring a classmate into the game. 4. Record the size of the remaining population at the fall station. 5. Migrate to the winter station and repeat steps 3 and 4.
