Project coordinator: Martina Beitke Energy Manager, Cefic +32 (0)2 676 7367 [email protected] 20 Back up 21 SPiCE³ – Energy efficiency for chemical SMEs • Sectoral platform to drive energy efficiency excellence in EU chemical industry, particularly SMEs • Top-down and bottom-up approaches: Online platform with energy efficiency information and tools Workshops and on-site training for SMEs at national level EU awards and events to promote good examples • Partners include chemical industry associations from 11 countries (80% of EU chemicals industry) and energy and communication experts 22 SPiCE³ – background November 2012: SPiCE³ is selected as an eligible project under the Intelligent Energy Europe programme (co-funded by the European Commission) April 2013: Launch of the SPiCE³ Project (“Sectoral Platform in Chemicals for Energy Efficiency Excellence”) Aim: foster energy efficiency improvements across the European chemical industry, particularly in small- and medium-sized companies Coordinated by Cefic Enables companies to benefit from existing energy efficiency tools and exchange best practices through an on-line platform, industry workshops and tailored training 23 SPiCE³ – Country project partners April 2012: 11 national Chemical associations join SPiCE³ as partners under the IEE programme October 2013: UIC (F) & FEIQUE (E) become cooperative partners of SPiCE³ (at own costs)!
