Enclosed is a copy of the final report for the Full Scale Exercise Evaluation on June 3, 2009, and
two out-of-sequence (OOS) drills conducted on May 20, 2009 and June 2, 2009 for the offsite
radiological emergency response plans site-specific to the Wolf Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
The state of Kansas, Coffey County, and Lyon County participated in the full scale exercise and
OOS drills. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region VII staff prepared the
report. A copy of the final report will be provided to the state of Kansas by the FEMA Region VII
staff.
There were no Deficiencies and no Areas Requiring Corrective Actions (ARCAs) identified during
the exercise or drills. We will be submitting planning issues and areas recommended for
improvement in a separate letter to the state.
Based on the results of the Full Scale Exercise, OOS Drills, the offsite radiological emergency
response plans and preparedness for the state of Kansas, and affected local jurisdictions, sitespecific to the Wolf Creek Generating Station are determined to be adequate to provide reasonable
assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the health and safety of the
public in the event of a radiological emergency at the site. Therefore, based on the above, the Title
44 CFR, Part 350 approval, granted on April 4, 1989, will remain in effect.
