• Helps you determine your goals

Wellness is your overall state of well-being or
total health. It is how you live each day.
Wellness includes physical, mental and
emotional health.
LIFESTYLE FACTORS
Lifestyle factors are activities you can do or
avoid that will make your life better.
• Sleep 7 to 8 hours a night
• Eat three balance meals at regular times
• Do not smoke
• Eat breakfast
• Exercise at least 30 to 40 minutes 3 to 4 times
a week
• Do not drink alcohol
• Watch your weight

Life expectancy is the average number of years a
group of people are expected to live

Person Will Live

• 1910 = 50
• 1920 = 54
• 1930 = 59
• In the past the leading causes of death were
communicable diseases like pneumonia, flu,
tuberculosis and polio
• 1980 = 74
• 1990 = 75
• 2000 = 77
• Today Males = 78 Females = 81
Today the leading causes of death are due to
lifestyle choices – heart disease, cancer,
strokes and accidents.
The leading causes of death for 15 to 24 year
olds are:
• Injury
• Murder
• Suicide
• Cancer
Quality of Life
Quality of life is the level of wellness and
satisfaction a person has in being alive. In
other words you are living a happy and
healthy life
This is obtained by practicing healthy habits to
stay disease free.
So take care of your body!
