Jaap Bos is Professor of Banking & Finance and Chair of the Finance Department at the Maastricht
University School of Business and Economics. His research spans a wide area within banking and
economics, and covers issues including bank competition and performance, mergers and acquisitions,
industry growth, and R&D and innovation. Jaap has published the results of this work in many leading
journals including: Journal of Business, European Economic Review, European Journal of Operational
Research, Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Development Economics and World Development.
