Fact Sheet: EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Solution Components Overview The EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Federation Software-‐Defined Data Center Edition with VMware is an integrated package of services, software and hardware that deliver a rigorously tested, fully engineered hybrid cloud solution. n Deliverable via several configuration approaches o New Vblock purchased and purpose-‐built as an EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud o New VSPEX configuration (partner configured) o Repurposed Vblock o Build leveraging some of customer’s existing infrastructure elements, augmenting and certifying n 3 EHC sizes-‐-‐-‐sized by virtual machines: o For 500, 5,000 and 10,000 VMs n 3 editions of the EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Solution: o Federation Software-‐Defined Data Center Edition (VMware/EMC Federation products, available now) o Microsoft Edition (available 2015) o OpenStack Edition (available 2015) § All three leverage EMC VIPR for a software defined data center The EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Solution is a complete stack. Below is a visual of what the EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Federation Software-‐Defined Data Center Edition (VMware/EMC Federation products) looks like, which also includes a sampling of some of the optional add-‐on modules: EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Components and Services Moving from bottom to top in the above stack visual, the EHC begins with a “Software-‐Defined Data Center” layer, which is ViPR-‐based and includes storage arrays and a data protection layer that can provide backup, archiving, replication for disaster recovery and continuous data protection, along with compute and networking. These elements are best-‐delivered via a converged infrastructure such as VCE Vblock or EMC VSPEX. Next up in the stack comes the “Management, Orchestration and Monitoring” layer, which in the case of the EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud, Federation Software-‐Defined Data Center Edition includes cloud management and monitoring software from VMware and EMC. Moving upward is the infrastructure self-‐service layer, where users can view and rapidly stand up available services with an easy-‐to-‐use interface. Directly below is a full list of components making up the foundation of the EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud, Federation Software-‐Defined Data Center Edition with VMware, as well as optional add-‐on components that can be provided by EMC, as well as components that are customer sourced. Underscoring the flexibility and choice associated with EMC’s Enterprise Hybrid Cloud solution, below is a chart of generic capabilities that can be added on top of the foundational elements of the EMC EHC. Below is the EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Self-‐service Portal. This is where it all comes together -‐-‐ in an easy-‐to-‐use interface that enables users to access and provision the extensive set of services available through the EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Solution.
