• NEI submitted two white papers on behalf of industry in December, 2015.

• Received NRC staff comments on white papers (December/January).
• Public teleconference held in January, 2016.
• Public Risk‐Informed Steering Committee brief held in February, 2016.

NRC Response to White Papers
• Large number of comments from NRC interested stakeholders.
• Industry white papers provide a framework to streamline a number of risk‐
informed applications.
• Industry white papers appropriately address a large number of issues important to NRC staff concerning RIDM.
• NRC staff intends to develop application specific guidance to supplement NRC’s current implementing guidance (e.g., RASP, IMCs, etc.).
Next Steps
• Public workshop with industry and NRC technical experts to be held March 16, 2016.
• Based on insights from the workshop, industry will revise white papers.
• NRC expects to receive revised industry white papers in April 2016.
• NRC will prioritize and develop application specific guidance. (April – December) 2
