SACRAMENTOIn January of 2012, you could hear and see
the glass crashing down.
Since then, other issues have come to light
with the Board of Equalization Building in
Sacramento on 450 N. Street.
“The pipes were corroded,” said Eric
Lamoureaux, Spokesperson for the
Department of General Services. “Mold was
detected and removed.”
The cost of repairs aren’t cheap, already $65 million, that’s more than the combined salaries of
all the Sacramento Kings’ players of more than $58 million.
More than 3,900 exterior glass panels will be replaced and you’re paying for it, the taxpayers.
“The project is going to cost a probably a little under $4 million,” said Lamoureaux.
So far those repairs have been given the green light. It’s too late to file a lawsuit against the
builder, the building was constructed the early 90s.
“We have more issues on this property than any others.”
Repairs are slated to start Spring of this year.

Instead of comparing the repair costs to the athletic team's salary expense--an unbelievable,
irrelevant plug for an advertiser (can you bill for that?)--it would be informative to compare it to
the original cost to construct the building: $75 million.
