Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Venture Capital Investors)
(Amendment) Regulations, 2001
S.O. 501(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 30 of the Securities and Exchange
Board of India Act, 1992 (No. 15 of 1992), the Securities and Exchange Board of India hereby makes the following
regulations to amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Venture Capital Investors) Regulations, 2000,
namely.—

(ii) " They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
In the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Venture Capital Investors) Regulations, 2000 :—

These regulations may be called the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Venture
Capital Investors) (Amendment) Regulations, 2001.
For clause (e) of sub-regulation (1) of regulation 2, the following clauses shall be substituted,
namely:—
' (e)
" enquiry officer'' means an enquiry officer appointed by the Board under regulation 24
(ee)

"inspection or investigation officer" means an officer appointed by the Board under
regulation 16.'
In regulation 4, in sub-regulation (1),

in clause (b), the word "or" appearing at the end of the clause shall be omitted.

in clause (d), the word "or" appearing at the end of the clause shall be omitted.
in clause (e), for the words "venture capital fund" after the words "as a", the words "foreign
venture capital investors" shall be substituted,

in clause (e), the word " o r " appearing at the end of the clause shall be omitted.
In regulation 8, for the word "rund", the word "investor" shall be substituted.
In sub-clause (b) of clause (ii) of sub-regulation (c) of regulation 11, for the words ' 'venture capital fund''
the words'' foreign venture capital investor'' shall be substituted.
The heading of regulation 29 for the words ' 'Appeal to Securities and Exchange Board of India'' shall be
substituted by the words'' Appeal to Securities Appellate Tribunal''.
In item II. of Form B of Forms to First Schedule, for the word "fund", the word "investor" shall be
substituted.
