APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOTION by Penny, seconded by Smeelink, to approve the February 11, 2015 meeting minutes as presented. MOTION PREVAILED APPROVAL OF AGENDA MOTION by Penny, seconded by Moy-Sandusky, to approve the agenda as presented. MOTION PREVAILED REGULATORY CONSIDERATIONS Alice Hinnawi, R.Ph - Application for Reinstatement MOTION by Smeelink, seconded by Penny, to accept the Application for Reinstatement and grant reinstatement. Petitioner's Pharmacist license shall be limited for a minimum period of one (1) year. During the period of limitation, Petitioner is prohibited from holding ownership/financial interest in any pharmacy. Petitioner must petition for reclassification of the limited license. In addition, Petitioner is placed on probation to run concurrent with the period· of limitation. The terms of probation require that Petitioner does not violate the Public Health Code, in the matter of Alice Hinnawi, R.Ph. A roll call vote followed: Yeas: Boston, Harney, Pignataro, Wyett, Penny, Smeelink, Almaklani Recuse: Moy-Sandusky MOTION PASSED Jayshree Gaurang Gandhi, R.Ph - Application ·for Reinstatement MOTION by Smeelink, seconded by Penny, to deny the Application for Reinstatement, in the matter of Jayshree Gaurang Gandhi, R.Ph. Discussion was held. A roll call vote followed: Yeas: Boston, Harney, Moy-Sandusky, Pignataro, Penny, Smeelink, Wyett, Almaklani MOTION PASSED COMMITTEE REPORTS Continuing Education (CE) Approval Moy-Sandusky directed the Board to the list of Continuing Education programs for consideration and provided an overview. (See Addendum #1 attached hereto.) MOTION by Penny, seconded by Wyett, to approve the list of continuing education programs. A voice vote was held. MOTION PREVAILED OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS Department Update Lind announced that the Bureau will be reorganized during 2015. Michigan Board of Pharmacy Meeting Minutes April 8, 2015 Page4 of 5 PUBLIC COMMENT Brenda Ruhlman, Meijer, would like to complete and submit the online examination form for employers, but the form is not yet on line. Jeff Kauffaman, Walmart, has concerns about the difference between the duties that can be performed by sales associates and pharmacy technicians. He would like clarification on what duties are not considered part of the dispensing process. ANNOUNCEMENTS The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held June 10, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at the Ottawa Building, 611 West Ottawa Street, Upper Level Conference Center (UL), Conference Room 3, Lansing, Michigan. RECOMMENDATION: 6 HOURS ST JOHN RETAIL PHARMACIES - Bipolar Disorder: An Update held June 16, 2015 in Southfield MI for 1 hour. RECOMMENDATION: 1 HOUR MAYO CLINIC - Pain Medicine for the Non-Pain Specialist held March 11-14, 2015 in Palm Desert CA for 28 hours related to pain management. RECOMMENDATION: 28 HOURS RELATED TO PAIN MANAGEMENT HENRY FORD MACOMB HOSPITAL-DEPT OF PHARMACY - Pharmacist Assessment of Antimicrobial De-Escalation in an Intensive Care Unit held May 19, 2015 in Clinton Twp MI for 1 hour. RECOMMENDATION: 1 HOUR SPECTRUM HEALTH - 25th Annual West Michigan Cancer Nursing Conference - Uniting to Enhance Quality of Life held April 24, 2015 in Grand Rapids MI for 6.5 hours. RECOMMENDATION: 6.5 HOURS MOCH-OFFICE OF PUBLIC HEALTH PREPAREDNESS - Michigan's MEDDRUNN, CHEMPACK and Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Program Training Module via CD and online at MITRAIN.org (course ID: 1031785) for 1 hour. RECOMMENDATION: 1 HOUR MOCH-OFFICE OF PUBLIC HEALTH PREPAREDNESS - Michigan CHEM PACK Program Training Module via CD and online at MI-TRAIN.org (course ID: 1019144) for 1 hour. RECOMMENDATION: 1 HOUR
