BA in English, Emphasis in Literary Studies (630-11) General Information: Academic Advising has provided a recommended graduation plan for every major we offer. Catalog Year 2013 - 2014 • This plan is built to meet the University’s minimum credit requirement (120 credits for a bachelor’s degree and 60 for an associate) in 8 semesters or less. Each plan includes all required courses, including Foundations and major as well as emphasis, minor or clusters (if applicable). The Gateway courses are: FDMAF 101, FDSCI 101, FDMAT 108, FDENG 101. For English majors FDENG must be taken the first semester. Keep in mind that FDSCI 101 AND Math 108 need to be taken before FDSCI Issue. FDSCI issues include: FDSCI 200 -299. < Take one of the following: FDCA 101, FDWLD 101 (Look under Cultural Awarness in your degree audit for additional options.) ^^^Complete one of the following if a FDCA course was previously taken: FDCA 201, 202,203,205,206 or 299. Complete FDWLD 201 if FDWLD 101 was taken. (If you took HUM 201, take HUM 202 AND either HUM 342 or one of the following FDCA courses: FDCA 201,202,203,205,206,299. If you took a different Cultural Awarness course, please refer to your degree audit for additional options.) *Choose two American Literature course from ENG 334, 335, and 336. **Choose two English/British Literature course from ENG 331, 332, 333, or 336. ***Author/Genre/Theme: take 1 class from 2 of the following categories for 6 credits: ENG 370R or 373 for Authors; ENG 351, 352, 353, 354, 355, or 356 for Genres; and ENG 350R for Themes. ^Student Choice Module: select and complete 1 of the following modules: For the writing module take ENG 318, 321, 326, and 327; for the reading module take ENG 331, 336, 350R, and 373; OR for the student creation module take 12 credits of ENG 318R, 327, 331, 332, 333, 334, 335, 336, 350R, 351, 352, 353, 354, 355, 370R, 373, 400R, 418R, 430, 450, 452, or 495. ^^ Take elective credits in addition to Foundations and Major requirement credits to reach 120 credits.
