BA in International Studies (775) General Information: Academic Advising has provided a recommended graduation plan for every major we offer. Catalog Year 2013 - 2014 • This plan is built to meet the University’s minimum credit requirement (120 credits for a bachelor’s degree and 60 for an associate) in 8 semesters or less. Each plan includes all required courses, including Foundations and major as well as emphasis, minor or clusters (if applicable). The plan may also include elective courses to meet the credit requirement. • Please note the following terms: Groups = A term used on the Degree Audit to reference a required group of classes that may be pre-selected or from which you can choose; General Elective = any course offering at BYU-Idaho which you are eligible to take; Major Elective = a required course from a list of multiple course options within your major. (A certain number of “major electives” may be required for your major, but you can select which course to choose from the given list.) The Gateway courses are: FDMAF 101, FDSCI 101, FDMAT 108, FDENG 101. Keep in mind that FDSCI 101 and MATH 108 need to be taken before FDSCI Issues. FDSCI Issues include: FDSCI 200 -299. ^Major Pre-requisites: POLSC 150 or 170. HIST 202,GEOG 120,ECON 150,ECON 151 and INTST 300. **** Take one of the following: FDCA 101, FDWLD 101 (Look under Cultural Awarness in your degree audit for additional options.) ^^^Complete one of the following if a FDCA course was previously taken: FDCA 201, 202,203,205,206 or 299. Complete FDWLD 201 if FDWLD 101 was taken. (If you took HUM 201, take HUM 202 AND either HUM 342 or one of the following FDCA courses: FDCA 201,202,203,205,206,299. If you took a different Cultural Awarness course, please refer to your degree audit for additional options.) * Complete foreign language credits in a single foreign language at a 3rd year proficiency level. One course, perferably the fourth course needs to be a 300 or above level. **Take 2 international Studies courses from INTST 341,342,343,344,345,348,349, and 350. ***Take 2 courses from GEOG 350,POLSC 372.375.377,378,390, and 392. Once you have completed your planning, please bring this form to the Satellite Advising Center over your major so that an advisor can approve your plan and help you wtih any fine-tuning.
