Head’s Up! Department of Psychology February 17, 2015 Congratulations, Dickie! Dr. C. T. Dickie Yu has been named Distinguished Researcher at St.Amant Research Centre. This appointment, the first of its kind at St.Amant, acknowledges Dickie's extraordinary contributions to research in autism and developmental disabilities, as well as to St.Amant Research Centre, and his inspiring, ongoing commitment to scientific investigation, evidence-based practice, and the well-being of persons with developmental disabilities. Department of Psychology February 17, 2015 Math-Time Doug Alards-Tomalin wrote an article on the relationship between arithmetic cognition and time perception. The article appears in the Winter 2015 issue of the Canadian Psychological Association's Psynopsis Magazine (p. 11). NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award Winners! Jacquelyn Klassen received a NSERC USRA to work with Dr. Melanie Soderstrom examining bilingual babies’ ability to discriminate different vowel contrasts. Alexie Touchette received a NSERC USRA to work with Dr. Jonathan Marotta examining how allocentric and egocentric information influences eye and hand movements. Psychopharmacology Workshop The School Psychology Program and Manitoba Association of School Psychologists (MASP) are pleased to present a free workshop on psychopharmacology with Dr. Julie Enyingi, on March 12th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in room P412 Duff Roblin. Beverages and snacks will be provided morning and afternoon. (Parking and lunch are at your own expense.) Registration is automatic for School Psychology students and available on a priority basis to Psychology Department members, current MASP members and cooperating psychologists, followed by other interested persons.
