The knowledge translation strategy will be accompanied by a program evaluation study. 2012 – Present Evaluation of bleeding and risk of bleeding in critically ill patients PIs – Emily Rimmer and Ryan Zarychanski Ryan Zarychanski Status – The aim of this program is to a) develop a clinically useful bleeding assessment tool that adjudicates the incidence and severity of bleeding episodes among critically ill patients and to b) investigate risk factors for bleeding in critically ill patients receiving anticoagulants. 2012 – Present Efficacy and safety of fibrinogen concentrates in cardiac surgery PIs – Christine Federow and Ryan Zarychanski Status – The first two phases of this research program are a systematic review and a National survey cardiac anaesthetists. This goal of this program is a randomized clinical trial of fibrinogen concentrates in cardiac surgical patients.
