TUNNEL VISION AGREEMENT FORM
We the undersigned, in consideration for the privilege of painting our designated section
of the tunnel, agree to leave the area painted in a condition such that it could be
reasonably expected that the CPAM will be satisfied with the technical quality of our
painting. We further acknowledge receipt of the Collaboration to Promote Art and Music
Committee Procedures and agree to the conditions, directions and standards as
outlined therein.
If the paint, or damages caused by the painting or installation fall below the agreed
standard, we agree to pay the amount necessary to restore the area to an acceptable
condition of the restoration costs.
Submissions may not be racist, sexist, homophobic, obscene or discriminatory in any
other way, and must not promote violence, or the use of weapons, alcohol or drugs.
Artistic freedom and positive reflection of the University of Manitoba will be taken into
consideration. CPAM will determine the appropriateness of the artwork as the
representative of the University of Manitoba Community.
We fully understand that our artwork will be the sole property of the University of
Manitoba.
We understand that the processes involved re: painting the tunnels may be videotaped
and/or photographed for use on the CPAM web site for program updates and
educational purposes. By signing this agreement I agree to give permission to the
University of Manitoba to use videotaped materials for CPAM web site content only.
We understand that we must receive some type of hazardous materials training before
proceeding with the work. We also understand that the University’s Environmental
Health and Safety Office will be consulted to assess all materials used.
We understand that if our artwork is not successfully completed by the end of the
applicable deadline we will have failed to meet the agreed upon standards.
If there is disagreement as to the acceptability of workmanship, the decision of The
Collaboration to Promote Art and Music Committee will be final and binding.

PLEASE NOTE:
The University of Manitoba Students’ Union and the University of Manitoba will supply
the paint needed for the murals. If any specific requests are needed, please make this
apparent in the application process. If the individual or group selected uses any other
paint than that provided please check with UMSU’s Vice President Student Services
before doing so. Using certain paint on campus may go against Work Place, Health and
Safety Standards that are held at the University of Manitoba. This would, in turn, require
the applicant to have any toxic substance removed at the Applicant’s expense. The
surfaces are concrete and the best paint to use is a water based or latex paint.
