UCD ® Compact Units
® UCD Compact Units COMPACT SIMPLE RELIABLE SKID MOUNTED Applications - Principally used to treat surface water, Applications UCD®, DEGREMONT Compact Unit, is a complete self contained drinking water treatment plant - Short delivery time and simple site installation provide drinking water production for small and medium size cities quickly and easily UCD® drinking treatment plant is based on compact conventional process: coagulationflocculation, lamellar clarification, sand filtration and chlorine disinfection. MAIN FEATURES A range of 14 units, producing from 5 up to 720 m3/h Single skid systems for up to 30 m3/h Skid modules for 50 up to 720 m3/h Pre-assembly in our workshop offers reliable and fast erection on site Treated water delivered at 2 bars (standard version) or more A complete reagents skid is provided, including preparation and dosing devices Self contained, UCD® includes all washing facilities: no need for separate backwash water tank UCD® SPECIFIC TECHNOLOGY UCD® has been developed, keeping in mind operation and maintenance constraints. Clarifiers sludge extraction is automatic. UCD® can be ordered with automatic or manual filters backwashing. Automation is based on relay type actuation, which is very simple to maintain in remote areas. Several options are available taking into account water treatment requirement (aeration, pre-oxidation, UV, active carbon filtration, etc.) and reagents available in the country. Other equipment can be supplied such as: automation based on PLC, raw water pumping station, higher pressure delivering of treated water, booster pumps, treated water reservoir, mobile system (5 to 20 m3/h). UCD® HOW IT WORKS Coagulation-Flocculation Settling After a coagulant is applied, the raw water flows into a flocculation chamber to increase the size and cohesion of the floc. A clarifier equipped with lamellar modules is used to accelerate the separation of the floc. The sludge stored in the lower position of the separator is withdrawn automatically at regulars intervals. Water is transferred from the flocculation compartment to the settling tank via a stilling chamber located beneath the lamellar modules. Settled water is collected in the settling tank overflow and pumped to the filters. Nozzles fitted on the filter floor collect the water evenly and then discharge it directly towards the treated water tank, following the application of a disinfection agent. Product Highlights Compact Fast installation Water and air scour Skid mounted modules Backwashing uses filtered water from the operating filter, coupled with air scour. This design: Reliable Easy to operate and maintain • Cleans the filter media thoroughly • Minimizes the duration of the backwash cycle • Eliminates the need for a backwash water tank and pump.
