[II] RATE OF CENTRE SUBSIDY / CONTINGENT EXPENDITURE FOR CONDUCTING PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS TO
BE PAID BY THE UNIVERSITY: A)
If the practical examinations are held in the colleges, no “Centre Subsidy” will be paid to the colleges
from the University for conducting such examinations. In that case the constituent colleges would not pay the
related “Practical Examination fee” to the University. However, expenditure on T.A. / D.A. to the external
examiner(s), remunerations to the examiners etc. and related expenditure for conducting Post-graduate
practical examinations would be borne by the colleges themselves.

B)
For conducting practical examinations at Post-graduate Departments, Golapbag Centre:In no case there shall be more than one external examiner for conducting practical examinations in a
particular paper/special paper or Viva–voce. The external examiners be selected from the neighbouring
Universities / Institutions. It has been decided that: -
(i) 65% of the “Practical Examination Fee” for the subject be given to the practical examination centre (P.G.
Department) as “Centre Subsidy”/“Contingent Expenditure” for conducting practical examination and 35% of
the total practical examination fees be retained by the University to meet up the expenditure towards
payment of T.A./D.A. etc. to the external examiners and other contingent service charge.
(ii) The amount (65%) of “Centre Subsidy” received by the P.G. Departments for conducting practical
examinations be disbursed in the following manner: (a) 60% towards cost of materials, equipments etc. for conducting practical examination,
(b) 40% towards refreshments and remunerations to the examiners and other personnel involved in the practical
examination. (Rs. 10/- per examinee per semester to be divided among the employees related with the
examination other than examiners).
C)
If the theoretical examinations are held in the colleges, the constituent colleges will not pay “Centre fee”
for the Examinees of their own to the University.
D)
If the services of the teacher(s) of the concerned colleges are required for invigilation duty, T.A./D.A. to
the said teacher(s) will be paid by the colleges themselves.
