enclosed leaflet before you
assemble the feet. Spread
out the cellophane wrapping on the floor and turn
the sofa upside down.
Make sure you do not pull
the sofa by the cushions,
armrests or backrest. Nicoline sofas, designed and
made in Italy, are delivered
to all countries in the world
and, due to transport, they
can sometimes show crea-
ses or a slight sinking of the
padding, soon to disappear however with use after a
few days. We suggest you
prop up the seat and back
cushions and shape them
up with your hands.
WHAT TO DO FIRST
Si prega di leggere attentamente le istruzioni descritte nel foglio accluso prima
di effettuare il montaggio
dei piedi. Stendere il cellophane dell’imballaggio sul
pavimento e capovolgere
il divano. Fare attenzione a
non tirare il divano dai cuscini, dai braccioli o dalle
spalliere.
I prodotti Nicoline, disegnati e realizzati in Italia,
raggiungono qualsiasi parte del mondo, pertanto a
seguito del trasporto il divano può presentare delle
pieghe o leggeri cedimenti
delle imbottiture che con
l’uso scompaiono dopo alcuni giorni.

Initially, the seat cushions
might show a slight difference inconsistency: this will
tend to disappear gradually
with use, within a few weeks.
The leather may display creases or natural markings caused by live animal wounds:
that proves the product to
be covered with genuine leather. The appearance, after
a while, of wrinkles or double
creases is exclusively due to
the elastic properties of natural leather. Try to avoid sitting
on the back and armrests.
Strong pressures might damage the sofa frame, or
cause the seams to give way.
In order to preserve the original colour we recommend
keeping the sofa at least 50
cm away from heat and light
sources.
WHAT TO DO FIRST
Inizialmente, i cuscini di seduta del divano potrebbero
presentare una lieve differenza di rigidità, che tenderà
a scomparire gradualmente
con l’uso, nel giro di qualche
settimana. La pelle potrebbe
presentare pieghe o segni
naturali dovuti a ferite dell’animale in vita, dimostrazione
che il prodotto è rivestito con
vera pelle bovina. La comparsa nel tempo di grinze o
doppie pieghe è riconducibile esclusivamente alla
proprietà elastica della pelle
naturale. Bisogna evitare di
sedersi sulla spalliera o sopra
i braccioli. Pressioni molto
forti potrebbero rompere la

SULLA PELLE
Per ogni lotto di pelle consegnato dai nostri qualificati
fornitori, provvediamo ad
archiviare un “Master”, ossia
il campione di riferimento.
Ogni manto viene confrontato con questo modello per
quanto riguarda la costanza
della fornitura in termini di
colore, stampe eventuali e
sensazioni al tatto. Inoltre,
attraverso appositi strumenti
di verifica quali spessimetro,
tabelle e prontuari, si control-

lano lo spessore e le caratteristiche della pelle.
RESISTENZA DEL
COLORE DELLA PELLE
ALLO STROFINIO
Quattro feltrini, sia umidi che
secchi, vengono strofinati su
un campione di pelle. Solo
se il trasferimento di colore
sul feltrino corrisponde ai
requisiti delle norme internazionali vigenti, quella pelle
viene usata per i nostri divani.
CONTROLLI SUL CUCITO
La nostra qualità non è un
pensiero fine a se’ stesso ma
un dato di fatto. E lo dimostriamo effettuando, anche
sulla fase di cucitura del salotto, una serie di verifiche
dimensionali e di esecuzione, controlli sulla linearità
delle cuciture e sulla tensio-
ne del filo. La cucitura è una
fase molto delicata: da essa
dipende in gran parte la qualità finale del pezzo prodotto
e del rivestimento. Poiché si
lavora sui particolari più piccoli, le verifiche condotte in
questo reparto sono sempre
particolarmente minuziose.
TEST DI COLLAUDO
Una volta terminate tutte le
verifiche su ogni fase produttiva, per ogni divano Nicoline
si effettua un accuratissimo
controllo finale. Esso è diretto alla valutazione estetica (cuciture, assemblaggio,
rivestimenti), e prestazionale
(test di fatica sul prodotto
finito) del salotto. Solo quando sono state superate queste ultime prove, un divano
Nicoline è finalmente pronto
per entrare in casa Vostra.
CHECKS ON LEATHER
For each leather batch delivered by our qualified suppliers, we save a “Master”,
i.e. a reference sample.
Each hide is compared with
this sample for supply consistency in terms of colour,
grain and tactile sensations.
Moreover, the hide thickness
and characteristic features
are examined using proper
checking instruments (e.g.
a feeler) and with reference to tables and technical
handbooks.
LEATHER COLOUR
RESISTANCE TO RUBING
Four felt pads, both wet
and dry, are rubbed against
a leather sample. To make
our sofas, we only use leather where colour transfer
to the pad complies with
the requirements of current
international regulations.
CHECKS ON SEAMS
Our products quality is not
a figment of our imagination but an actual fact. And
we prove it by carrying out
a series of dimensional and
manufacturing checks also
on seams, more particularly
on seam straightness and
thread tension. Seaming is a
very delicate process:much
of the cover and sofa final
quality will depend on it.
As we examine the smallest
details, the checks carried
out during this phase are
always very meticulous.
FINAL CHECK
Once all checks on manufacturing are completed,
we carry out a thorough final check for each Nicoline
sofa, aimed at assessing
looks (seams, assembly,
covering) and performance
(fatigue test on the finished
product). Only when it passes the final test, a Nicoline
sofa is ready to enter your
home.
CHECKS AND QUALITY
In addition to the above
technical checks, each
Nicoline sofa goes through further tests. It is also
thanks to these tests that
we can offer a manufacturing quality guaranteed in
every single detail.

È necessario sottolineare
che l’ammorbidimento delle imbottiture si potrebbe
verificare a seguito del normale uso del salotto, e del
naturale assestamento del
materiale, e non va affatto
considerata come una perdita di elasticità generata

Nicoline utilizza solo poliuretani espansi flessibili che

I telai delle sedute, che sono

PELLI PROTETTE
Pelli sottoposte ad un procedimento che permette di
asportare, grazie all’utilizzo
di sostanze abrasive, una
parte consistente di imperfezioni, per rendere regolare e resistente la superficie.
Con i prodotti protettivi si
ricostruisce lo strato esteriore per ridare alla pelle un
aspetto naturale. La rifinitura di superficie contiene
delle piccole particelle di
vernice dette pigmento. Tali
sistemi conferiscono alla
pelle resistenza allo sporco,
protezione durevole e facilità di conservazione.

PELLI SEMI-ANILINA
Questa pelle deriva da pellami selezionati di qualità
superiore. Essa è completamente tinta in anilina e
leggermente coperta da
pigmenti organici.
Ciò rende la coloritura più
uniforme ed aumenta la resistenza all’usura, alla luce
ed alle macchie. Queste
pelli mantengono inalterate
alcune caratteristiche naturali come le cicatrici, rughe,
punture di insetto, venature, tuttavia la pelle è più
protetta da agenti esterni e, quindi, più facile da
mantenere rispetto a pelli
pieno fiore. Poiché queste
pelli semi-anilina possono
avere il pieno fiore, naturale o con alcune lucidature
leggere, che migliorano
l’aspetto e l’uniformità,
sono la scelta perfetta per
chiunque voglia conciliare il
piacere per le cose naturali
con la facilità nella pulizia
e manutenzione. Infatti si
combinano la naturalezza e
la morbidezza con un buon
livello di resistenza ad usura
e scoloritura.
PELLI ANILINA
Dalla selezione delle migliori pelli di origine europea, nascono le pelli pieno
fiore all’anilina. La loro peculiarità è rappresentata da
una morbidezza al tatto fra
le più gradevoli.
Queste pelli sono lavorate
senza che ne siano alterate
le loro caratteristiche originali. Non a caso queste pelli rappresentano la giusta
scelta dei veri amanti della
pelle, che ne apprezzano la
estrema naturalezza poiché
dona al tatto una piacevole
sensazione di flessibilità, setosità e sofficità.
Queste pelli conservano
ogni segno distintivo della
vita animale, cicatrici, segni
di stiramento, rughe, venature, variazioni di colore e
grana naturale, che sono
la prova assoluta della loro
genuinità.
E’ comunque un tipo di pelle elastica e vulnerabile allo
sporco, allo scolorimento
nel tempo ed alle macchie,
non essendo protetta, ma
ha come pregio ulteriore
quello di invecchiare gradualmente sviluppando nel
tempo una piacevole patina
distintiva.
PELLI PULL-UP
Sono pelli rifinite con olii e
cere che donano all’articolo profondità e vita, nonché un tatto particolare ed
un effetto ottico di opacità,
semilucidità o lucidità.
Quando la pelle viene stirata, gli olii e le cere si dissipano e si evidenzia l’effetto schiarente che dona alla
pelle un aspetto di invecchiato ed usato, caratteristiche principali delle pelli
pull-up. L’intensità della variazione dell’aspetto finale
è il risultato del loro utilizzo.
Solitamente è una pelle con
coloritura irregolare e che
conserva, al pari delle pelli
pregiate, tutte quelle caratteristiche naturali dell’animale in vita. Pertanto non
sono da escludere variazioni di tonalità o del fiore,
frustate e venature. Considerando la loro naturalezza,
non sono molto resistenti
allo sporco, alle macchie e
alla luce solare.
SEMI-ANILINE LEATHER
This leather type comes
from selected quality hides. It is aniline dyed, and
lightly covered with organic pigments. This makes
colour more uniform and
increases resistance to
wear, light and stains. This
leather maintains some
of the original hide characteristics such as scars,
wrinkles, insect bites and
veins unaltered. It is also
better protected from natural elements and thus
easier to take care of than
full grain leather. Semianiline leather can be full
grain, natural or with a light
shine to improve look and
evenness: it is the perfect
choice for anyone wishing
to combine natural beauty with easy cleaning and
maintenance. It offers a
natural, soft look accompanied by good resistance to
wear and colour fading.
ANILINE LEATHER
Our full grain aniline leather comes from a selection of the best European
hides. Their distinctive feature is a pleasant softness
to the touch. These hides
are processed without altering their original characteristics. It is not by
chance that they are often
the choice of true leather
lovers, who can appreciate
their natural features and
the pleasant suppleness,
silkiness and softness sensation. They might show
the distinctive marks of live
animals, scars, stretches,
wrinkles, veins, as well as
colour and grain variation:
the actual proof of a genuine product. They are
elastic, vulnerable to dirt,
colour fading and stains,
because they are not protected, but offer the added
plus of ageing slowly and
developing in time a nice
distinctive patina.
PULL-UP LEATHER
Hides finished with oils
and waxes to grant them
depth and richness, as
well as a special feel and a
matt, semi-matt or bright
look. When the hide is
pulled up, oils and waxes
dissolve, enhancing the
lightening effect and granting the skin an aged and
worn look, the most notable feature of pull-up leather. The intensity of the final effect depends on use.
This is a leather commonly
characterized by uneven
colour and preserving, as is
typical of precious leather,
all natural features of the
live animal. Streaks, veins
and variations in tone or
grain are to be expected.
Due to its natural characteristics, however, this type of
leather is not very resistant
to dirt, stains and sunlight.
QUALITY INGREDIENTS
PROTECTED LEATHER
Leather put through a special process to remove,
with abrasive substances,
quite a number of blemishes and imperfections,
and make the surface
more even and resistant.
Protective products allow
to restore the outer layer
and recreate the natural
look of leather. The surface
finish contains small colour
particles called pigments.
The various finishing systems can grant dirt resistance and long lasting
protection, for easy maintenance.

REGOLE GENERALI
Per prolungare la bellezza
del Vostro divano, Vi consigliamo di non esporre il
tessuto alla luce diretta del
sole che ne provoca lo scolorimento. Se, invece, è sistemato nella zona pranzo,
aerare il locale per evitare
che i fumi della cucina danneggino i tessuti.
MACCHIE:
asciugare immediatamente
le macchie con un panno
assorbente pulito, di stoffa
o di spugna. Non strofinare.
Se necessario, usare acqua
pulita tiepida e rimuovere
la macchia strofinando delicatamente. Tamponare con

Uno dei pregi della vera pelle è la semplice manutenzione, in quanto é sufficiente
adottare pochi accorgimenti
per conservarne nel tempo la naturale bellezza. La
pelle, specie le aniline e le
semi-aniline, vanno tenute
lontane da fonti dirette di
luce e di calore; durante i
giorni piovosi ed umidi, è
preferibile aerare l’ambiente
in cui si tiene il divano per favorire una buona idratazione
della pelle. La pelle naturale
potrebbe rovinarsi con l’utilizzo di paste, creme, detergenti, smacchiatori o lucidi
per mobili. Per mantenere il
Vostro divano in condizioni
perfette, basta spolverarlo
spesso o utilizzare al massimo un panno leggermente
inumidito passato senza
sfregare ma tamponando,
asciugando poi col phon
posizionato almeno a 60 cm
dal divano, per non lasciare

CONSIGLI
PER LA PULIZIA
La bellezza e la durata del
divano è strettamente legata al tipo di pulizia che si
effettua. E’ sufficiente spolverare il divano solo con un
panno morbido ed asciutto
per avere sempre il salotto
in perfetto ordine. Per una
pulizia più accurata, è possibile utilizzare acqua distillata e sapone neutro (nella
quantità di 1 cucchiaino
di sapone per 1/4 lt. d’acqua) con un panno morbido. Fare attenzione a non
strofinare energicamente la
pelle e a lasciarla asciugare
naturalmente senza esporla alla luce diretta del sole
o a fonti artificiali di calore.
E’ preferibile evitare puliture profonde e continue
in quanto la rifinitura di superficie, se in continuo contatto con acqua o prodotti
simili, con il tempo perde
consistenza e resistenza e
dunque potrebbe screpolarsi. E’ sconsigliato l’uso
di creme, e prodotti contenenti alcool o soluzioni chimiche. Per le pelli aniline
non è possibile l’impiego
di alcun prodotto liquido:
per la pulizia adoperare
semplicemente un panno
asciutto. Per una cura del
rivestimento si consiglia
di non lasciare che lo sporco diventi troppo intenso,
evitando così d’effettuare
puliture troppo forti, profonde.

I divani completamente sfoderabili vi consentono di lavare o sostituire il rivestimento
in maniera molto semplice
mantenendolo sempre impeccabile.
Per sfoderare i cuscini di spalliera e di seduta è necessario
aprire le cerniere e rimuovere
il rivestimento (fig.1).
Per rimuovere il rivestimento
della struttura basta aprire
l’eventuale cerniera, presente
sul retro della spalliera (fig.2),
e sfilare lentamente il velcro
dalla parte sottostante del
divano (fig.3) prima da un lato
e poi dall’altro (fig.4) facendo
attenzione al velcro, piegarlo
su se stesso in modo tale da
non danneggiarlo, durante
l’operazione di sfoderabilita’
e di lavaggio. Per rivestire il
divano ripertere al contrario
l’operazione descritta.
RIVESTIMENTI
SEMISFODERABILI
Per i divani semisfoderabili è
sufficente rimuovere i cuscini di spalliera, di seduta, e i
braccioli (ove previsti) aprendo le cerniere presenti per rimuovere rivestimento (fig.1).
Per rivestire il divano, ripetere al contrario l’operazione
descritta.

the seat and backrest, simply undo the zips (Figure 1).

the frame, undo the zip
(where present) at the back

gently detach the Velcro
from the bottom of the
sofa upwards (Figure 3),
first on one side then the
other (Figure 4). Pull the
Velcro gently: fold it in on
itself to prevent damage
when removing the cover
and during washing. To
replace the cover, follow
the instructions in reverse
order.

poggiatesta dal centro e alzarlo lentamente in modo da
scegliere una delle posizioni.
Per chiuderlo basta portare
il meccanismo a fine corsa e
accompagnare il poggiatesta

GIREVOLE
Il pouf girevole puo’ essere
accostato ad ogni lato senza
bracciolo per i modelli (ove
previsto) e di seguito roteato
in avanti attraverso un meccanismo montato tra i due
elementi. Per permettere la
rotazione del pouf, alla dimensione della larghezza
bisogna aggiungere 50 cm
circa. Il pouf si muove solo se
si accompagna dolcemente
verso il davanti, facendolo
roteare su se stesso. (figura C)
RATCHET SYSTEM
To raise the adjustable headrest, grasp the centre of
the headrest and move it up

move the ratchet mechanism as far as it will go and

ROTATING POUF
MECHANISM
The rotating pouf can be positioned at the side of each
armrest and then rotated
forwards, thanks to a special
mechanism fitted between
the two parts. Approximately 50 cm should be added
to the width of the sofa to
allow for rotation. The pouf
will only move if it is pushed
forwards gently, and rotated
around itself (figure C).

Per reclinare la spalliera ,e
sollevare il poggiapiedi, basta tenere le braccia ferme
sui braccioli applicando una
leggera pressione, e spingere il corpo indietro.
Per chiudere il meccanismo
basta portare il poggiapiedi, con l’aiuto delle gambe,
verso la posizione iniziale, e
automaticamente anche la
spalliera ritornera’ verso la
posizione di partenza.
N.B. per effettuare correttamente l’operazione di movimento bisogna distanziare
la poltrona dalla parete di
circa 50 cm.

Reclining the armchair
using the side handle
pull out the handle to recline the backrest and lift the
footrest.
To adjust the angle
of the backrest
place your arms firmly on
the armrests and push
back. To close the recliner
mechanism, use your legs
to return the footrest to its
original position.
Using the rocking
mechanism
(armchairs only)
To use the rocking mechanism, first turn the lever on
the back of the armchair
(lower part). When you
have finished using the mechanism, turn the lever to
the right until it clicks.
Adjusting the centre of gravity: urn the two knobs under the armchair, clockwise to tilt the armchair
forwards, anticlockwise to
tilt it back.
Swivelling the armchair: place your feet on the floor
and move them to the right
or left.
