AESO Replies
The AESO is proposing to remove existing ISO OPP 1305 WECC Reliability
Management and Related Reporting (“ISO OPP 1305”) in its entirety. Much of the
appropriate authoritative content from ISO OPP 1305 is duplicated in the related
Alberta Reliability Standards VAR-002-AB-1.1b Generator Operation for
Maintaining Network Voltages; VAR-002-WECC-AB-1 Automatic Voltage
Regulators and Voltage Regulating Systems; and VAR-501-WECC-AB-1 Power
System Stabilizer (collectively “the related VAR standards”), and in the AESO’s
Reliability Management System agreement with the Western Electricity
Coordinating Council. Authoritative content which is not duplicated in these
documents has been relocated to proposed New Section 306.6 of the ISO Rules
Automatic Voltage Regulator and Power System Stabilizer Outage Reporting
(“New Section 306.6”).
Where appropriate, non-authoritative content has either been removed or
relocated to the internal AESO System Controller Procedures Manual.
Accordingly, it is the AESO’s opinion that ISO OPP 1305 is not required once the
related VAR standards and proposed New Section 306.6 come into effect.

matter:

the related VAR standards and proposed New Section 306.6 come into
