Today's Objective
To Have You Question
"What you teach"
"Why you teach it"
“T T W W A D I”
Important Facts to Know
• The more fit a student is, the better they
function in school academically.
“Sound Body Sound Mind”
• Any time a person does an aerobic
workout they manufacture new brain cells.
• Finland has the highest literacy rate in the
world. Students there take active breaks
after every 45 minutes of class time.
More Important Facts to Know
• Inactivity and Diet HAVE replaced
smoking as the leading cause death in the
U.S.A.
• Research shows that the average
American daily caloric intake has
increased 7% over the last decade. At the
same time inactivity has increased more
than 25%.
Research from Dr. Kenneth
Cooper’s Clinic Dallas, Texas
A person who is 10 pounds under
weight but sedentary generally would
experience greater long term health
problems than an active person
who was 75 pounds overweight.
Aerobic Exercise Energy
Source
• 65% to 75% of maximum heart rate you
will use fats as your fuel or energy source.
At this level you will burn calories more
effectively.
• 75% to 85% of maximum heart rate you
will use sugars as your fuel source. These
are sugars your body produces after
breaking down carbohydrates.
• Above 85% your fuel source is protein. At
this level it is anaerobic and you break
down muscle
What does it mean to you,
and to our Profession?
Everything!!!!!!!!!!
