Holistic Nursing
Advanced Placement Saves a Year
The B.S.N. program at UTB focuses on holistic nursing. According to the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA), holistic
nursing:
… recognizes the totality of the human being: the interconnectedness of body, mind, emotion, spirit, social/cultural, relationship, context and environment. ... The practice of holistic nursing
requires nurses to integrate self-care, self-responsibility, spirituality, and reflection in their lives.
AHNA recognized the UTB B.S.N. program’s high standards and
achievements by awarding the program its first Excellence in
Holistic Nursing Education Award.
“The program allows for growth in the
profession and is designed to bring
out the leader in all nurses.”
— Christine Bollom

“I find myself practicing holistic nursing at the
agency where I work. Now I look at all the
aspects of holistic nursing with the patients
that I attend.” — Gerardo Castillo
The B.S.N. program saves you money and time by
giving you credit for your Associate Degree in Nursing
(A.D.N.) or nursing diploma (Nursing Validation Base).
After successfully completing seven B.S.N. credit
hours, you will be granted 38 additional credit hours for
your RN prelicensure nursing course work
