Transfer Guide -­‐ Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Transfer Process All transfer students seeking a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre should follow the admission procedures located at www.stcloudstate.edu/transfer to be admitted to St. Cloud State. A student must first be accepted to St. Cloud State, and then may apply to the major after meeting the major’s admission requirements. The Theatre Program offers emphases in Acting/Directing, Design/Technology, and Generalist. Requirements for Admission to the Theatre Major: • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher The following courses transfer from North Hennepin Community College to St. Cloud State: NHCC Course SCSU Course TFT 1210 Intro to Theatre TFT 1290 Design for Theatre TH 230 Intro to Theatre TH 236 Intro to Production TFT 1350 The American Musical Theatre TH 270 American Musical Theatre TFT 1500 Acting I: Improvisation & Foundations TFT 1510 Foundations of Acting: Stage Movement & Voice TFT 1520 Acting II: Building Characters TH 148 Acting for Everyone TH 250 Voice Production for Theatre OR TH 260 Stage Movement TH 248 Acting I TFT 2010 Fundamentals of Directing TH 349 Directing I • If a student completes a Goal within the MnTC, the same Goal will be completed at St. Cloud State once transferred. Additional Requirements to Consider when Degree Planning: • Completion of 10 Goals (40 credits) in the MnTC (known as the Liberal Education Program at St. Cloud State) • 40 upper-­‐division credits (300-­‐400 level coursework) required to graduate Please refer to www.transferology.com for up-­‐to-­‐date information on transfer equivalencies.
