exam until they have completed all necessary coursework and have cleared the department level
benchmark examination.

Analysis of data:
The Physical Education EC–12 test is scored on a 100–300 scale, with a passing score of
240. The overall pass rate for the 2012 calendar is 86.2% (25 out of 29 TCs) with a mean score
of 254.8. Test scores are further divided into one of three domains reported by the state as a
percentage score. The percentage scores for domain I ranged from 53-87 with a mean of 68,
domain II scores ranged from 40-92 with a mean of 73 and domain III scores ranged from 48-88
with a mean of 75.
Interpretation of data – How it provides evidence for meeting the standards:
The pass rate for the UTB Physical Education EC-12 teacher candidates was well beyond
the 80% mark required by NCATE for those students who completed their examinations in the
2012 calendar year. This high level of success provides ample evidence that teacher candidates
have the knowledge to be a successful teacher according to the standards set forth by the state of
Texas. This high success also is represented in the corresponding three domain scores which
provide further evidence of the strength of the TCs in the areas of Movement and Skill
