actively recruiting almost "college ready" students to participate
in a summer program aimed at transitioning them toward

4307 do 15 hours of school observations. . HEB Read3 Family
Literacy Workshop- she participated as a Supervisor for UTB
students' teachers who were trained to conduct workshops for
parents and children. Read 3 Family Literacy Workshop
involves six weeks of classes designed to help parents and preschool children to prepare for success in kindergarten. This
project is funded and sponsored by HEB Supermarkets. In
Brownsville, Read 3 has been implemented in a partnership
with BISD and UTB. Several of herstudents in BILS 3310 and
4306 have volunteered in this project since its creation in 2011.
