Learning Agreement
Entered into between:
The Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA),
NSOA Learning (Pty) Ltd
and
the Support Programme Candidate
Part A: Candidate Undertaking:
I, _________________________________________ undertake to:
 Attend and actively participate in all contact sessions, lectures and practice tests. I understand
that my attendance at both the NSOA and Joint Venture Board Course (JVBC) sessions will be
monitored and that my continued participation in the programme depends on me attending at
least 3 out of every 4 sessions (for both the JVBC lectures as well as the NSOA contact
sessions).
 Complete and submit the JVBC work assignments as per the programme. I understand that my
work submission to NSOA will be monitored and that my continued participation in the
programme depends on me attempting and submitting at least 60% of the stipulated weekly set
work on a consistent basis.
 Take corrective measures, where appropriate, to improve my chances in the examination.
 Attend and participate fully in any coaching and counselling sessions conducted by NSOA.
I also agree to the fact that NO REFUNDS will be made to me in the event of me withdrawing from the
programme or being asked to leave it as a result of my lack of sufficient participation as set out above.

Part B: NSOA Undertaking
NSOA, represented by Neville Demaine and Graeme O’Reilly agrees to:
 Deliver the IRBA’s 2011 Support Programme in collaboration with JVBC in accordance with the
2011 Support Programme Schedule.
 Objectively review work assignments submitted by the candidates.
 Review candidate’s practice tests and simulated examinations written at the contact sessions
and provide feedback on a group basis to candidates on improvements to their mark scoring
and communication techniques.
 Provide appropriate input on technique and mark scoring in the contact sessions.
 Assist wherever possible to ensure examination success.
 Provide individual counselling and coaching sessions with candidates.
 Provide the IRBA with regular objective feedback on each candidate’s performance, work
submissions and attendance during the programme (NSOA and JVBC).
 Continually liaise with JVBC with regard to the Support Programme to ensure synergy between
the NSOA and JVBC programmes

Part C: IRBA Undertaking
The IRBA undertakes to:
 Administer the registrations for the 2011 IRBA Support Programme.
 Provide administrative support to the candidates.
 Provide a copy of the 2010 Public Practice Examination (PPE) scripts and mark plans to the
candidates who make application through the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000.
 Make the 2010 PPE Examiners’ Comments, Suggested Solutions, 2010 PPE question papers
and other previous PPE question papers available on the IRBA Learning website at
www.irbalearning.co.za.
 Communicate programme information in a timely manner to the candidates.
 Keep track of all attendance (NSOA and JVBC) and work submission by candidates for
purposes of consideration of their retention on the programme.
