I continue to be impressed with your commitment to our school and our children. The first few months of school have flown by with many exciting events. The teachers were thrilled with the attendance, positive responses and support during parent conferences. The PTA has done an amazing job with fund raisers and family activities. The Book Fair was a huge success and we are all anxiously waiting to find out the grand totals. We are continuing to collect Dollars for Turkeys and our Winter Coat, Hat, and Gloves Drive to help support our sister school, Summit Hall Elementary. Your generosity is incredible. The number of parents volunteering in the school continues to grow. Your help contributes to the success of our school! I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving and are able to celebrate with friends and families. Thank you again for all you do. HALLOWEEN AND VETERAN’S DAY CEREMONY – Thank you to the many, many parents who attended our Halloween parade and also to those parents who helped with the fabulous Halloween parties. What an exciting afternoon! It was a terrific way for us to all come together as a community with such a fun activity. Also, thank you for the many veterans and active military who came to our moving and meaningful Veteran’s Day ceremony. We sang songs, had meaningful readings, and heard about our brave soldiers who fight for our freedoms. Thank you to Mr. Euler, Mr. Frankford, Mr. Kim, Mr. Monroe, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Rotberg, Mr. Dittmeir, Mr. Vande Krol, Dr. Min, Mr. Solis, Mr. Katz, Mr. Ruggieri, and Mr. Auth for attending. Your presence made our ceremony even more meaningful! PTA FUNDRAISER - Travilah Elementary School is inviting you to participate in a unique fundraiser to “Pave the Way” for our students. Leave a lasting legacy by purchasing a paver to be permanently displayed and remembered forever. Each paver that you sponsor may honor you, your student, a teacher or staff member, former student, a family member, friend, local business or anyone! The pavers will be etched with your custom inscription and placed within the landscaping around the circle, in front of our school. All of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go to our PTA. Please submit orders before Friday, April 15, 2016 for spring 2016 installation. For more information please visit the PTA website or contact: Erinn Foster at 301-370-4502 or mail to: [email protected] WINTER CLOTHES DRIVE – We will be collecting new or gently used winter coats, sweaters, hats, gloves and scarves to be delivered to Summit Hall Elementary school for use by families in need. Please drop off donations into the bins placed in the main lobby beginning November. We will collect items until November 20th. DOLLARS FOR TURKEYS – Each year the PTA partners with our kids to collect money to help families at Summit Hall ES enjoy a meal for Thanksgiving.
