BE A GIVER. FUND
BE A FUND GIVER. SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS. Annual Appeal Goal: $100,000 The Medical Center Neighborhood Fund is a joint effort of Columbia University Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian and the New York State Psychiatric Institute. The Fund supports local notfor-profit community organizations in their efforts to provide much-needed recreational, arts and cultural, health outreach, education, preventive and social services to children, youth, seniors and families in the Washington Heights and Inwood community. Thanks to the generous contributions of employees throughout the Medical Center, community partners are able to provide these services to our neighbors in need. For the past twenty-two years, the Neighborhood Fund has helped support programs like the Ecumenical Food Pantry, which distributes 600 food bags a week to seniors and families; Concert in the Heights which develops free classical music concerts for the entire community to enjoy; the Nagle Avenue Y, which provides homebound seniors with safe and reliable transportation to get their groceries and medications; the Corner Street project that delivers invaluable preventive services to high risk individuals; many other organizations that provide after-school educational and recreational programs for youth as well as advocacy and entitlement services for our most vulnerable neighbors. The groups are just a few examples of the many community partners that make our community a great place to live and work. Let’s continue our support. The recent setback in our economy yielded daunting funding cuts for many in the not-for-profit sector. Community service providers have had to reduce and cut programs leaving the neediest residents at risk of going without critical services. Your support for community programs is more important than ever. Help us continue our tradition of giving and caring for our neighbors. Your help is desperately needed…Take Action Now!
