LAUNCH OF THE
INCLUSIVE GREEN GROWTH PARTNERSHIP
7 DECEMBER 2015, PARIS
The Inclusive Green Growth Partnership aims to support developing countries to identify
green growth opportunities and investments that promote inclusive, shared prosperity and
equitable growth that creates employment and raises the incomes of the poorest.
The Partnership, a joint initiative of the Global Green Growth Institute together with the
multilateral development banks and the United Nations regional commissions, will be
launched at the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) to the United Nations Framework
Convention on Climate Change.
By joining forces in addressing policy barriers and promoting social inclusion at the country
level the Partners can significantly increase their impact in a complementary and coordinated
way, including in areas such as green cities, water, energy and land use.
The high-level launch event will include a signing ceremony, two high-level panels, and a
reception and dinner for the Partners. The high-level panel discussions will focus on:
1. New finance solutions to support developing countries to deliver on the Sustainable
Development Goals and Intended National Determined Contributions
2. Overcoming the policy challenges to mainstream green growth in developing countries
