Reporting directly to the president, my duties ranged from fundraising, communication and
strategic planning activities, to coordinating and supporting Peconic Baykeeper’s (PBK) clean
water programs. The following is a sample of my responsibilities:
• Foundations: Maintain and enhance foundation grants through research, proposal writing and
reporting, relationship building with foundation staff, and connecting with fundraising
networks.
• Individual Donors: Maintain existing and cultivate new relationships with general and major
donors through research, networking and outreach. Solicit donations from new major donors.
• Special Events: Oversee the scheduling and organization of all fundraising and outreach
events. Identify honorees, special guests, photographers, committees and hosts. Create and
manage event programming, including soliciting event and media sponsors, press/media
coverage and invitation design. Engage and coordinate volunteers and organized and manage
auctions and raffles.
• Marketing and Public Relations: Identify and create opportunities for publicity and revenue
generating partnerships. I branded the organization through program content, organizational
marketing and collateral materials, presentations and displays for outreach events. By
developing succinct messaging (including our mission statement) and strategic PR, I
strengthened and diversified our public profile and membership.

GPS Resurvey of the Anza gap region, in preparation for an earthquake on the San Jacinto Fault
Research entailed equal parts lab and fieldwork. I was responsible for structuring, conducting,
processing and analyzing all components of the project. The work often included driving alone to
remote locations and required innovative problem-solving.
