Developed and instructed, “Scientific Literacy and Climate Change” Created a two week intensive exploring the effects of climate change in Wyoming and the application to education. I led the development and execution of a comprehensive, internally conducted sustainability audit and directed the creation of the first sustainability report. Elizabeth B. Palchak June 2005 to 2008 National Outdoor Leadership School Instructor Lander, WY The National Outdoor Leadership School is widely considered the global leader in outdoor leadership and wilderness education. NOLS has evolved to include teaching leadership and wilderness skills to professionals from NASA, Google, NAVY Seals and various other organizations. My role as instructor involved teaching the NOLS leadership curriculum and fundamentals of mountaineering to college students during 30-day wilderness expeditions. June 2006 to August 2007 Franklin Pierce University, Wilderness Orientation Program Assistant Director Rindge, NH In response to a distinct problem with student retention, I helped to develop and implement a Wilderness Orientation program for incoming freshman students. In the role of Assistant Director, I trained student leaders in wilderness and leadership skills, developed routes and itineraries for trips and helped to facilitate all administrative areas of the program. September 2004 to June 2005 Stonewall Farm and Education Center Educator Keene, NH Stonewall Farm protects over 100 acres of land under pressure from developers. The farm and center include a working dairy, community supported agriculture and large gardens, wetlands, a large maple sugaring operation, cultural history education and ecology education.
