Strategies for capacity building
• Step-1: Identify target group
• Step-2: Assessing Training needs
• Step-3: Prepare capacity building plan
• Step-4: Design training package
• Step-5: implement training program
• Step-6: Sustain the capacity
Priority: In designing training program for public sector
people we have given more priority on financial,
commercial, legal and negotiations skills rather than
technical skills.
Capacity building program: 2012-2015
Capacity building training of government officials
▲Intensive capacity building on PPP started from 2012
▲Total 450 government officials were trained on ppp by 36 events
▲46 government officials were trained abroad on various PPP issues
Policy level consultations
◙ Implementation of PPP needs high level policy decisions
◙ To get easy approval of PPP, 15 policy consultation events held
◙ Attended 300 high officials of Planning Commission & ministries
PPP awareness building seminar/workshop
►To create awareness 31 workshop/seminars held
► About 3400 local & international investors &
other stakeholders participated those events
► As a result, PPP is a well-known phenomenon in
Bangladesh today
International investment Forum
• To attract international investment, Global
investment Forum held on 7-8 December 2012
• International investment Forum-17 Sept 2014
• Both the events were inaugurated by Honorable
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
• Investors from 20 countries attended
Future Capacity building plan(2015-16)
1. PPP Office in-house training: 09 days-72 hours
2. PPP series training : for govt officials-batch 3&4
3. PPP outside training :for project related officers,
focal points and ACAD course officers- 3 events
4. Workshop/Seminars: for officials, investors,
Corporate people, Policy makers:6 events
5. Overseas training- For govt officers in USA/UK
6. International investment Forum: 3 eventsDhaka(2) & Singapore.
7. Total budget-30 Million BDT
