 86 or about 36% of SDG indicators (241) are involved to the economic statistics.

5. Discussions regarding the use of economic statistics
for SDG monitoring
Proposal on relation core set economic statistics and SDG
 Disaggregate the key indicators in the core set of economic
statistics;
 Identify the economic indicators in SDGs; and
It is necessary to evaluate the harmonization between the core set of
economic statistics and SDGs. This will help assess the implementation
of the regional programme for improvement of economic statistics and
SDGs, review the linkage of the data, and harmonize the data.

5. Discussions regarding the use of economic statistics for
SDG monitoring
 NRSO has translated 17 goals, 169 targets, 304 indicators into Mongolian and
sent to all ministries and related agencies.
 NRSO has initiated meetings with the MOF and the UNDP.
 With the support from UNDP and UNEP, NRSO recruited a national and
international consultants to make assessments with the aim of:
- providing an overview of national and provincial data availability in
regard to the Global SDG;
- identifying data gaps in regard to indicators for reporting against the
proposed Global SDG targets;
- creating a set of SDG indicators that are feasible for Mongolia.

5. Discussions regarding the use of economic statistics for
SDG monitoring
 On 26 November, 2015, NRSO, MOF, UNDP and UNEP jointly
organized a National SDG Mainstreaming and Planning Workshop to
bring together all relevant stakeholders and to present the assessment
results to them.
 A resolution on establishing a Working group on SDG composed of the
representatives from key stakeholders has been supported by all
ministries.
-The Working group on SDG is divided into the Task Forces on
society, economy and environment and their responsibilities, TORs,
relationship with the Working group and scope of work are defined.
- NRSO leaded task forces on methodology development of SDG
and assessment of SDG

5. Discussions regarding the use of economic statistics for
SDG monitoring
 On 29, March-1 April 2016, NRSO, UNSD and UNEP
jointly organized a “Strengthening basic statistics to support
the sustainable development goals” final regional workshop
for Asia and the Pacific to bring together all relevant project
matter countries and stakeholders and to present and
measure progress towards achieving a Green economy.
During the workshop, identifying linkages SDG and Green
economy indicator was pointed and discussed.
On 28, April, 2016, NRSO and MOF has organized meeting
for related ministries and stakeholders to present activities
done and to discuss further activities related to SDGs.
