Total Roads Network = 214,000 Km Population = 78.8 million Motorized Vehicle = 27 million Over 90% of Transport is Road Sector 3 IRAN ROADS NETWORK (214000 Km) Freeway : 2200 Km Highway: 15000 Km Major Road: 22000 Km Local Road: 46000 Km Rural Village Roads: 131000 Km Bridge 355000 Tunnel 142 Km 4 24 Road border terminals with 7 neighboring countries provide services to passengers and merchants, out of which, 11 border terminals of Dogharun (Afghanistan Border), Bazargan (TurkeyBorder ), Mirjaveh (Pakistan Border), Khosravi (Border of Iraq) , Astara (Azerbaijan Border) , Inche Boroun (Turkmenistan Border) , Milak (Afghanistan Border) , Sarakhs (Turkmenistan Border) , Bajgiram (Turkmenistan Border ) , Jolfa (Azerbaijan Border) , Nourdouz (Armenia Border) are located within Asian Highway Network.
