FIELDS OF WORK AND MAIN SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS:
 3D analysis of materials microstructures in the micro, nano and atomic scale to understand
correlations between microstructure and processing as well as properties in terms of chemistry,
crystallography and 3D morphology of phases and defects.
 New theoretical and experimental methods for microstructure preparation, imaging, visualization,
image analysis, classification as well as quantification in 2D and 3D.
 High performing surfaces by microstructure design, surface structuring and functionalization
using advanced laser interference and laser patterning techniques.
 Advanced functional materials with tailored microstructures for high electrical impact and
energetic applications.
