“Achieving Health Equity: Tools for a National Campaign Against Racism” – January 20
As part of Martin Luther King Celebration Education and Learning Week (January 19-29), Camara Jones, MD, MPH,
PhD, President-Elect of the American Public Health Association, will present her work as an epidemiologist focusing
on the impact of racism on the health and well-being of our nation. The presentation takes place on Wednesday,
January 20, at 5:30 pm, Medical Education Center, Room #200. It is free and open to the public.

Join us for Happy Hour at the Garden Atrium. There will be special menu offerings 2-4 pm on the following dates:

“Mind Over Tobacco” offers natural and conventional approaches to quitting tobacco by teaching you a combination
of evidence-based stress management, mindfulness and relaxation skills. Free yourself from tobacco and develop
new pathways to health and well-being by taking Power over your mind, time, energy, money, health and your life!
You will learn: how to make lifestyle change easy on yourself; natural approaches to self-care; stress and energy
management, ideas for refraining during the workday; quitting and staying quit; and methods of using the most
powerful tool you have – your mind. Evy Smith, LCMHC, Tobacco Treatment Specialist, will present this workshop

Center, we believe that every try counts! The employee tobacco cessation program offers a supportive approach to

patches, gum or lozenges.
Community Tobacco Cessation Program
Free five-week quit groups available. Receive FREE 10-week supply of gum, patches or lozenges when you
