Ajith De Silva, Director (Policy and Planning), Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment, on Sri Lanka’s national solid waste management policies and strategies which was followed by Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, Program Assistant of the Ministry 11.15a.m - 11.30a.m Presentation by Ms. Thamila Dulani, Assistant Director, Climate Change Secretariat, Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment, on the current status of NAMA development in Sri Lanka. 11.30a.m - 11.45a.m Presentation by Mr. Ajith Weerasundara, Director (WMU), Central Environmental Authority, on the implementation of national solid waste management strategies and programs. 11. 45a.m - 12. 15p.m Discussion Session 2 – Opportunities for linking the municipal solid waste management sector with international climate financing The session will explore linkages between the Pilisaru programme and international climate financing mechanisms, especially NAMAs.
