Outstanding Student of the Year in Transportation Research Award
University Transportation Center
Outstanding Student of the Year in Transportation Research Award
Nominations Requested (Deadline: October 24, 2014)
For the past 23 years, the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has honored an
outstanding student from each UTC at a special ceremony held during the TRB Annual
Meeting. Each student is recognized during the ceremony by a Departmental official; the
Administrator of the Research and Innovative Technology Administration made the
presentation last year.
The 24th Annual Outstanding Student of the Year Awards ceremony is scheduled to take
place as part of the Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) annual banquet
on Saturday, January 10, 2015, with a start time of approximately 6:00 PM. The
location will be confirmed at a later date. The official group photograph of the students
will likely be taken at the conclusion of the banquet, so we ask that students remain for
the entire event.
Each student awardee receives:
 $1,000 award
 The TRC will cover costs of attendance (conference registration, and
travel/lodging expenses) to the 2014 93rd TRB Annual Meeting
 Two free registrations to the CUTC Banquet provided by DOT (for the student
and her/his guest)
 A certificate from USDOT.
