Message from the Vice-President and
Principal, Professor Ulli Krull
Welcome to the University of Toronto Mississauga, a campus known
for its innovative learning environment, world-class faculty and facilities, and its
natural beauty. At U of T Mississauga, you have an intimate and diverse campus
where students easily mingle with each other, faculty, and staff, and you have
access to the talent and resources of all three campuses of the University of
Toronto, one of the world’s leading educational institutions.
I hope you are just as excited to join us as we are to have you as members of our
campus community. All of you are arriving with wonderful ambitions and goals,
and we aspire to further nurture those ambitions, and to help you develop the skills
and knowledge that will allow you to achieve your fullest potential.
I invite you to explore the campus, all the nooks and crannies, on
and off the beaten path. Take the time to chat with faculty members, join a club,
volunteer as a student leader, go for a brisk walk on a treadmill in our Recreation,
Athletics and Wellness Centre (RAWC), watch the politics of the world unfold
through the live stock market index at our Li Koon Chun Finance Learning Centre,
and stroll along the banks of the Credit River in the beautiful Erindale Park to
refresh your mind and find new energy.
There are so many possibilities, and they all
combine to make UTM that special place you will
be proud to call your academic home!
Take advantage of the many opportunities this
campus offers to study, learn and socialize both
within and beyond the classroom. Your
educational journey is just beginning!
Ulli Krull
Vice-President, University of Toronto
Principal, U of T Mississauga

STUDENT HOUSING & RESIDENCE LIFE
Residence has over 1,500 student spaces, providing you with the most diverse range
of housing options for undergraduate, graduate and professional students, and for
students with families, within the University of Toronto system. In addition to
on-campus residences, we also help students with their housing needs through
services such as off-campus listings, roommate searches, and community and
safety information.
First Year Transitional Support
All first year students living in residence are placed into an Academic Living
Community based on their intended program of study. This access to specialized
peer-based academic support allows for enhanced opportunities to get to know
students in their courses, build a supportive community and find resources that can
enable academic success. Our first year residence students are also assigned a Peer
Academic Leader (PAL) who is an upper year student from their discipline that
provides mentorship and guidance throughout their transition to university life.
Students are divided into small groups and are given the opportunity to attend
workshops designed to enhance their academic skills focusing on topics such as
study planning, learning styles, note taking, academic goal setting, professional
communication and writing skills. Essential to this experience is the opportunity to
participate in one-to-one meetings with their PAL, attend Facilitated Study Groups
(FSGs) and engage with faculty outside of the classroom.

committee is representative of campus constituencies including students, staff and
faculty, includes members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies, and
represents a variety of skills, knowledge and experience.
The most visible symbol is an inverted rainbow triangle
sticker that you will see in many places around campus.
If you notice a rainbow triangle sticker on a door or an
office, it is a sign that people in that office are
supportive of LGBTQ+ students, staff and faculty and
would welcome your questions and requests for
assistance. They may not have all the answers, but they
will be helpful in a general way, and can refer you to
appropriate offices and services. LGBTQ+ is a collective
acronym for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer
identities (including intersexed, questioning,
two-spirited, asexual, pansexual, as well as others).

GETTING INVOLVED
CO-CURRICULAR RECORD
Your work outside the classroom deserves to be recognized. U of T now has the Co-Curricular

an official U of T document. You’ll also be able to identify the skills and abilities you’ve
developed as a result of your involvement, which is valuable when you’re meeting with possible

Places to Visit
Nature Trails
The University of Toronto Mississauga is known for its lush nature trails that weave
on and off campus, into Erindale Park and other surrounding areas. These trails are
great for afternoon strolls and bike rides. Start at one of the many trail entrances,
like the one on Principal’s Road, and see where it takes you!

SPORTS & RECREATION
Village of Streetsville
Photo taken from www.villageofstreetsville.com
Bike to Streetsville and enjoy the variety of bakeries, coffee shops and restaurants.
Erindale Park
The largest park in Mississauga. Erindale Park features five picnic facility areas, five
barbecues, six comfort stations, a playground area, a lookout on the old dam, and a
toboggan hill. The park also offers walking trails, fishing, canoeing, and views of the
Credit River and ravines. The park is ideal for bird watchers, photographers and
those who enjoy nature. Don’t miss the annual salmon run in mid-September!
Another aspect of the park is the David J. Culham Trail, a pathway system through a
heavily forested area that provides spectacular views of the Credit River and trail
ravines. The trail is particularly breathtaking in autumn, but has a special brand of
peace and beauty that manifests itself throughout the year. This trail is perfect for
hikers, joggers, cyclists and cross-country skiers.
