Locandina seminario Cameriere
School of Biosciences and Veterinary Medicine Master Degree Course in Biological Sciences AGESTIMATION PROJECT: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE Prof. Roberto Cameriere Institute of Legal Medicine University of Macerata Date: Thursday, January 28, 2016 Time: 10:00-12:30; 14:30-16:30 Place: Room 2 in Polo didattico di Scienze Age assessment in forensic context is important both for the dead and the living. For the dead it is a required step in constructing a biological profile, which can then be compared to missing persons. For the living it is essential to determine whether an individual is an adult or child when there are doubts about the claimed age. Knowing someone’s age and identity is important to solve questions of adoption, imputability, pedopornography, child labor, and illegal immigration. Prof. Cameriere will provide an overview of anthropological and dental methods for age determination in living. In the afternoon session students will gain experience putting in practice their knowledge. Invited by: Stefania Luciani Master degree students in “Biological Sciences” will earn 1 CFU for attending the seminar, upon presentation of a report.
