Top 5 Network Fiber Optic Concerns
“SURVEY FROM INSTALLERS, DESIGNERS, CONTRACTORS, END-USERS”
1.
Maintenance and downtime from fiber optics (cracking, bending,
pinching of the glass fiber optic cable)
2.
Space constraints through conduits, support systems and data cabinets
3.
Smaller size fiber optic cable for higher density applications
4.
A replacement to the current Aluminum Interlock Armor (AIA) jacket that
is bulky and heavy for 1000 ft. rolls
5.
Current AIA takes additional manpower to install and transport to the job

Patch Cord Solutions
 The performance of a fiber optic
network can be undermined when
the performance of the patch cords
used for connecting communications
equipment are not top quality
 Micro Armor Fiber® is the “END to
END” solution and provides the high
quality, bend radius to ensure the
proper
connection
and
high

NFL Super Bowl Outdoor Fiber
Every year, the Super Bowl outdoor events attract hundreds of thousands of
pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The NFL needed a highly crush-proof, flexible, high
quality cable and with the smallest OD fiber armor. They turned to TiniFiber™ for
the solution.
During the 2014 New York City events in Times Square on “Super Bowl Blvd” there
were thousands of vehicles and heavy foot traffic running over the Micro Armor
cables without incident. The NFL again utilized the TiniFiber™ for the 2015
Phoenix Super Bowl events and will recommend the product for other events in
the future.

AOL Corporate FTTD Solution
AOL Corporate was looking for best in class Fiber To The Desk (FTTD) cabling
and patch cords. Since they were transporting huge amounts of data, it was
imperative to have high bandwidth and zero down-time. The right fiber
solution had to provide quality and reliability from the server to the patch
panel and to the desk. AOL turned to TiniFiber’s Micro-Armor Fiber™ optics for
its FTTD needs.

Winthrop Hospital Research Building
“Winthrop Hospital has undergone an expansion of our Research Building that uses
high-tech training for future technologies in the hospital.
A high end, secured fiber optic network backbone had to be implemented. We
found that TiniFiber™ Micro Armor Fiber® optic cable was the perfect solution. The
highly flexible, small OD size saved space in both the pathways and the racks and
made for a smooth installation and within budget. The stainless steel armor
provided the extra strength and security over regular fiber cables. Plenum rated and
the best Corning glass made it a no brainer.”

Micro Armor Fiber® Stainless Steel
Aluminum Interlocking Armor (AIA)
TiniFiber™ Micro Armor Fiber® optic cable
is a stainless steel coiled tubular armored
solution that is designed as the smallest
and lightest with enhanced crush
resistance and ruggedness. Available in
riser and plenum constructions. Stainless
steel micro armor can be used for all
general usage, patch and inside/outside
plant applications in place of a conduit.
Aluminum Interlocking Armored (AIA) cables
are standard fiber optic cables inside a
spirally wrapped interlocking armor for
enhanced crush resistance and ruggedness.

4 Core OM1, OM3, OM4, & OS2 Sampling
OM1 62.5/125 fiber has a 62.5 micron core and a 125
micron cladding. This cable supports up to 1 Gigabit
applications.
OM3 or laser-optimized 50/125 µm multi-mode fiber
that meet this designation provide sufficient
bandwidth to support 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 300
meters.
OM4 is a "universal medium" and supports all existing
multimode applications. With a minimum 4700
MHz·km EMB bandwidth and 3500 MHz·km OFL
bandwidth at 850 nm, OM4 fiber can support higher
speeds and longer distances.
OS2 SingleMode fiber has a much smaller core, only
about 9 microns used for telephony and CATV with
laser sources at 1310 and 1550 nm because it has
lower loss and virtually infinite bandwidth.
Micro Armor Fiber® + Power Sampling
The TiniFiber™ Hybrid Fiber + Power solution allows the installer to run
Micro Armor Fiber® optics and power to devices such as cameras in a
single jacket that saves time, space and costs for the end-user.
Available in a variety of glass types and strand counts, the fiber component is designed as
needed. The “Power Cables” can be 2, 3 or 4 conductor with 12 AWG to 22 AWG options.
The basic construction is two (2) strands of SingleMode Fiber and 18 AWG/2 conductor all
under one (1) outdoor jacket.

Popular Termination Solutions
 ST has been a popular connector for many
years. Bayonet locking design keeps the ST
securely on equipment. Used widely in legacy
systems and still the standard connector for
broadcast applications
 FC connector has a threaded body, which was
designed
for
use
in
high-vibration
environments. Mostly used in Singlemode
applications
 SC is a snap-in connector that is widely used
in both Multimode and Singlemode systems
 LC is a newer connector that uses a 1.25 mm
ferrule, half the size of the SC/ST. Becoming
the new most popular connector for both
Single and Multimode fiber
Popular Termination Solutions
 MTRJ is a duplex connector with both
fibers in a single polymer ferrule. It uses
pins for alignment and has male and
female versions
 Opti-Jack is a neat, rugged duplex
connector cleverly designed around two
ST-type ferrules in a package the size of
a RJ-45
 E2000/LX-5 is like a LC but with a shutter
over the end of the fiber
 MTP®/MPO is 12 or 24 fiber connector
for high density applications. Its main
use is for pre-terminated cable
assemblies
Summary
TiniFiber™ is an American Engineered Micro Armor Fiber®
(patent-pending) solution that has surpassed expectations of
all customers and have provided testimonials on the cost
value proposition, ease of installation as well as exceeding
durability, ruggedness, flexibility and lightest weight armored
cable in the market today.
