A fire gutted the warehouse of a spinning
mill in the Bolibhadra area of the capital’s
Ashulia.
The FSCD official said no casualties were
reported and the cause of the fire could not
be known immediately.
The Hazaribagh police officer-in-charge,
Mainul Islam, said that fire fighter Mizan
had suffered suffocation. A fire broke out in
an apparel factory at Jhigatala in the capital
Dhaka on Thursday evening. Fire Service

Mahbubur Rahman said that the fire had
broken out in the first floor of Green Leaf
Apparel about 5:45pm.
The fire at Al-Lima Textile Limited's factory
started around 12.15pm on Wednesday,
Savar Model Police Station SI Ashish Kumar
Sanyal said.A machine on the factory’s
ground floor caught fire from electric
sparks.That later spread across the floor.
Fire broke out at a garment factory in the
capital’s Malibagh on Monday nightat ‘Al
Muslim Garments’ at about 8:20pm.Nine
units of Fire Service rushed to the spot and
doused the fire at 9:20pm.
A fire which broke out at a textile dyeing
factory at Konabari in Gazipur Saturday
morning is now under control.The fire
originated from the machinery on the ground
floor of Swadhin Dyeing Factory at about
9:30 am and soon engulfed the entire factory,
fire service sources said.Several machines
and accessories were gutted by the blaze.

douse the flame along with the fire fighters.
Fire fighters and witnesses said about
4:45pm a fire broke out at the ground floor of
Aman Spinning Mills Ltd at Zirabo. They
brought the blaze under control after one
hour of their hectic efforts.
At least 15 workers of a Gazipur dye factory
were injured when they tried to escape a fire
on Tuesday. The fire erupted from an oven
on the third floor of the Riyad Dying at
around 8am and spread quickly, said a
Gazipur Fire Service official. Station Officer
Abu Zafar Ahmed said panic-stricken
workers tried to get out of the factory and at
least 15 of them were injured in the melee.
Ten people were killed and 50 others injured
in a fire at the Aswad Composite Mills
garment factory in the Gazipur District on
October 8. The fire originated around 6 p.m.
in the dyeing section of the factory, owned
by Palmal Group. The cause of the blaze was
not immediately known. Firefighters brought
the flames under control around 12:45 a.m.,
fire service officials said. The blaze spread to
a nearby chemical store and engulfed two
floors, after which a boiler on the ground
floor exploded, further feeding the flames.
Three people, including two rescue
personnel, were injured after a fire broke out
on the upper floors of the Sicily garment

sewing section of the Uni Garment factory at
about 9 a.m. Factory employees and workers
put out the flames before fire engines
arrived.

District. The blaze broke out on the ground
floor of Tung Hai Sweater Factory, housed in

Excelsior Shoes in the Chittagong Export
Processing Zone (CEPZ) around 3.40 p.m.
No injuries or deaths were reported. The
flames spread quickly because of chemicals
stored in the factory.
Five garment workers were injured while
escaping a fire in the Kang Book BD Limited
factory in the Chittagong Export Processing
Zone (CEPZ). Sources said sparks from
welding caused the fire while an exhaust fan
was being installed on first floor of the
factory building. The fire created panic
among some 1,100 workers on the ground
floor of the factory, where fire retardant
foam generated thick smoke.

A fire started around 8:35 p.m. in the Biswas
Group factory in Ashulia. No injuries or
deaths were reported. Workers doused the
blaze before firefighters reached the factory,
fire sources said. The cause of the fire was
not be known.
The fire stemmed from an electric shortcircuits around 10:15 p.m. on Sunday in the
factory’s store room. Three fire-fighting
units from Savar EPZ, Kaliakair and Gazipur
controlled the fire after two hours. The fire
destroyed goods worth around Tk 2 million,
officials say. But no casualty was reported.
A fire sparked by a short circuit in the
weaving section of the Mesbah Textile Mill
broke out around 2 p.m. No injuries or deaths
were reported. Mill authorities estimate the
damage at Tk 15 million (1.50 crore).
A worker was killed and two others critically
injured when a boiler exploded at a garment
factory in the Comilla Export Processing
Zone. Mohammad Moniruzzman Mia, 35,
who worked at the water boiler of the factory
of Nisa Group, died of injuries at Comilla
Medical College Hospital. One of the
injured, factory engineer Kabir Hossain, also
was admitted to the hospital.
A fire broke out at Manami Fashion
Garments when no workers were on the job,
and no injuries or death was reported. The
fire broke out on the third floor of the fivestory factory around 3 a.m.
A fire at a thread factory of the Opex and
Sinha Textile Group in Narayanganj
destroyed a large amount of raw cotton and
damaged machinery. No injuries or deaths
were reported. The fire originated from an
electrical short circuit around 2 a.m., when
the factory was closed.

At least 100 garment workers, mostly
women, were injured in a stampede triggered
by a fire scare over a false fire alarm. A fire
alarm rang around 8:30 a.m., moments after
the workers came on duty.As workers rushed
down the stairs, the stair railing also
collapsed. Of the injured, 56 were admitted
to hospitals and clinics.
No deaths or injuries were reported after a
fire broke out at Abdullah Spinning Mills.
Police and fire brigade sources said the fire
originated from a short circuit at unit 2
around 6 a.m. The fire, which lasted till 10
a.m., burned several units.
A fire broke out on the first floor of a multistory apparel factory of Knit Asia Limited
around 8 p.m. No injuries or deaths were
reported. Ashish Dutta, store manager of the
factory, said the fire originated from an
electric short circuit and was quickly doused
by extinguishers.
Seven workers were killed and 15 others
injured in a fire at a Smart Export Garment
Ltd. factory. The cause of the fire is
unknown. Workers say all exits at the factory
were locked. Both the collapsible gates were
locked and there were no guards. When they
finally showed up and unlocked the gates,
smoke was billowing out of the staircase.
According to sources, at the time of the fire,
about 360 workers were in the factory.

District. No casualties were reported.
Witnesses said the fire originated from an
unknown source at the top floor of a sevenstory sweater factory around 11 a.m.
At least 50 garment workers, mostly women

off around 9 p.m. As the workers tried to
rush out of the factory, the stair railing
collapsed on the fourth floor. Factory
sources said there a spark in electrical wires
caused someone set off the fire alarm.
