These courses, which satisfy university and science m ajor requirements (25 cred its), are typically taken in the freshman year. Entry to the m ajor requires a C or better (C- is not sufficient) in each of the following classes (or equivalent transferred from another institution): BIOL 196, BIOL 197, CHEM 121, CHEM 122, MATH 127 or 181, ENG 101, ENG 102. Stud ents with Ad vanced Placement (AP) cred it in chemistry and / or biology m ust complete the appropriate lab at UNLV and earn a grad e C or higher. Resident Credit: A candidate for the baccalaureate degree must complete the last 30 UN LV semester credits in uninterrupted resident credit as a declared major in the d egree-granting college. A student must declare a major prior to enrolling in their last 30 UN LV resident credits. (Special examination, physical education activity cou rses, or Distance/ online credits are exempted.) Minimum Credits for Graduation: The minimum number of semester credits required for a bachelor’s degree for a student graduating under the regulations of the 2012 - 2014 Und ergrad uate Catalog is 120. At least half of the credits required for a baccalaureate degree at the institution must be earned at a four-year institution. Minimum University Grade Point Average for Graduation: In order to graduate, an undergraduate student must have a minimum cu mulative grade point average of 2.00 for the total of all college-level credit attempted at the University of N evada, Las Vegas (UN LV GPA).
