What services are offered through Brainfuse?
Services that allow you to connect to a tutor




Live tutoring
o Access during non ASC tutoring hours, including math 24 hours /day
o Write on the virtual whiteboard
o Upload images
o Send tutor documents you are working on
o Open docs from cloud storage
o Print out work you have done on the whiteboard
o Save all sessions to access later or send to yourself through email
o Use symbols including super and subscript
Language Lab
o Get live tutoring for Spanish only
Writing Lab
o All rules and policies that apply to the UNLV writing center also apply here
o 5 page max submission
o 2 business day turn around
o You will find responses in your message center on the homepage of your account
o Comments will be made in your paper; it will be your responsibility to revise the paper
as needed.
Send question
o Similar to writing lab, but for non-writing questions
o Response in 1 day max
o You will get resources or hints, or similar problem if math
Services that allow you to reinforce skills by yourself or with friends

Skill surfer
o Allows you to reinforce skills through written exercises and videos
o Live help button right there if you need it (will use allotted minutes)





Leap: diagnostic tests
o Answer a few questions to generate an individualized learning plan with practice tests
Flashbulb: Use Brainfuse flashcards or create your own.
Meet: Schedule an online meeting with your classmates to study using the interactive
whiteboard.
o Audio enabled
o Your “My calendar” shows saved sessions
Brainwave: Draw on the interactive whiteboard to practice or get something straight in your
head, and send the recorded session to your email.
o Your Brainwave library lets you search by keyword
o Your “My brainwaves” on the right of the homepage brings you to brainwaves
o Your “My past seasons” shows past sessions you have recorded
My cloud pack: cloud storage for your Brainfuse account,
o You can access “my could pack” from your Brainfuse homepage
o Send documents and much more to tutors during live sessions

Brainfuse is free to use for all students.
What are the rules for using this service?
Students are required to follow the UNLV code of conduct when using Brainfuse services. Sessions are
monitored for violations of these policies and will be reported to the Office of Student Conduct.
