Re:
Trns•port/Designer Interface Enhancement for FA Non-Participating Pay Items
Two new pay items, 107-1 Litter Removal and 107-2 Mowing, have been determined to be always Federal
Aid non-participating. Presently, pay item 999-25 Initial Contingency Amount is also FA non-participating.
Additional pay items may be designated in the future.
Previously, the non-participating designation had to be entered manually in PES. An enhancement has
been made to Trns•port that allows the Federal non-participating designation to be placed on the pay item
master in Trns•port PES and CES. If added through the Designer Interface, pay items with this designation
will always display as non-participating on federally funded projects, without the need for manual entry in
PES. The non-participating designation cannot be removed from these pay items on federally funded
projects using the Designer Interface; it can only be removed through PES.
Along with the system changes, a one-time database update was performed that added the nonparticipating designation to the three pay items above on existing projects in PES with a letting date after
July 1, 2010 or not already tied to a letting. The update occurred on August 18. A list of projects that were
affected by this database change is available at:
http://www.dot.state.fl.us/specificationsoffice/Estimates/Trnsport/TRNSMemos/Default.shtm#Master
The file is named “N-Part Items Attachment”.
New memos will be issued when necessary to distribute information regarding the software usage. If you
have any questions, please contact your District Estimates Coordinator or you can contact me at:
