The Turnpike Mainline/SR 91 is a 320-mile, multi-lane facility extending from Florida City in Miami-Dade County northward to Wildwood in Sumter County. IN ADDITION TO THE TURNPIKE MAINLINE, THE TURNPIKE SYSTEM INCLUDES: SOUTH FLORIDA • 23-mile Sawgrass Expressway/Toll 869 CENTRAL FLORIDA • 18-mile Seminole Expressway/Toll 417 • 6-mile Southern Connector Extension/Toll 417 •11-mile Western Beltway/Toll 429 •22-mile Beachline East/Toll 528 WEST CENTRAL FLORIDA • 15-mile Veterans Expressway/Toll 589 • 42-mile Suncoast Parkway/Toll 589 • 25-mile Polk Parkway/Toll 570 • 1-mile I-4 Connector TURNPIKE IS WITHIN • 5 of 7 FDOT Districts • 52 of 120 House Districts • 23 of 40 Senate Districts TURNPIKE FUNDING In fiscal year (FY) 2016, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise will invest $1.24 Billion in Florida’s Transportation System. The eight major projects shown on the reverse-side map, the Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise Tentative 5-Year Work Program for FY 2017 through 2021 and total $881 Million. • Florida’s Turnpike System is financed with toll and concession revenues rather than gas taxes. • Turnpike revenues are used to: o Repay principal and interest on outstanding revenue bonds o Pay for ongoing opera ons and maintenance costs o Pay for preserva on (e.g. resurfacing) needs o Pay for minor capital improvements • Major capital improvements with an asset life of 30 years or greater are typically bond and cash funded.
