Fatma Nasoz
William Antholis is managing director of the Brookings Institution and a
Senior Fellow in Governance Studies, where his work focuses on the
politics and institutions of international diplomacy. He has served in
government at both the White House and State Department.
Fatma Nasoz is the Senior Resident Scholar of Information Technology
with The Lincy Institute. She is charged with leading the Institute’s
technology initiatives including its data repository; assessing the
information technology needs of Southern Nevada’s nonprofit and
government agencies; and collaborating with those agencies to build
and enhance their IT capacity.
William Brown
Bill has held appointments as an academic research librarian, faculty
member, and administrator at Yale University, the University of Miami,
and the University of California, Berkeley, before joining UNLV in 2005.
Bill joined Brookings Mountain West in December 2009.
Dave Damore
David Damore is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political
Science at UNLV where he teaches courses on legislative politics, political parties, interest groups and public opinion and political behavior.
Damore regularly comments on Nevada governmental and political issues for local, national, and international media outlets.
Ramona Denby Brinson
Ramona Denby Brinson is the Senior Resident Scholar of Social Services
with The Lincy Institute and a Professor in the Greenspun College of
Urban Affairs School of Social Work. Her research interests include child
welfare, children’s mental health, juvenile justice, and culturally specific
delivery of social services.
Brian Greenspun
Brian Greenspun serves as the Chief Executive Officer of The Greenspun
Corporation. Greenspun serves as Editor of The Las Vegas Sun. He serves
on the President's Community Advisory Board of the University of
Nevada, Las Vegas, and sits on the board of trustees of the
Brookings Institution.
Cyndy Gustafson
Cyndy is a Principal at Strategic Progress LLC. Cyndy and her firm have
raised over $18 million over the last 8 years, working with variety of
government, nonprofit and private philanthropic organizations and entities.
Sonya Douglass Horsford
Sonya Douglass Horsford is a Senior Resident Scholar of Education with
The Lincy Institute where she focuses on the history of education in the
U.S., politics of education, and role of schools in society. A native Las
Vegan, Horsford serves on several non-profit education committees. She
is also founder and director of Las Vegas Freedom Schools, a summer
literacy program for children in historically underserved communities.
Helen Neill
Helen Neill is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean at the
Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. Areas of expertise and interest
include environmental economics, environmental management,
economic valuation, risk, spatial statistics, and key laws and regulations
such as the National Environmental Policy Act.
LeAnn Putney
LeAnn G. Putney is a Professor in Educational Psychology at UNLV. She
has examined teacher efficacy and collective classroom efficacy from a
Vygotskian perspective to illustrate how efficacy can be developed and
enhanced. LeAnn co-founded Innovations International Charter School of
NV and serves as the Director of Research..
Lindy Schumacher
Lindy Schumacher serves as a CEO of Fulfillment Fund, Las Vegas, and
associated with Dream Fund, UCLA. Schumacher brings a wealth of
knowledge through her background in finance and accounting through
her past role as a senior auditor for Arthur Andersen.
Marya Shegog
Marya Shegog joined The Lincy Institute in September 2012 as its Director
of Health Programs. During 2009–2010 she completed a post–doctoral
fellowship with the Center of Health Disparities Research within the
School of Community Health Sciences at UNLV. Her teaching and research
interest focus on effectively identifying and addressing health
disparities in order to eradicate them.
Neal Smatresk
Dr. Neal J. Smatresk was appointed president of the University of
Nevada, Las Vegas on Aug. 6, 2009. Under his direction, UNLV has hit a
number of milestones and academic achievements, positioning the
university as a leader in the dynamic Intermountain West. He secured a
donation from the Lincy Foundation to establish The Lincy Institute, and
he forged a partnership with the highly respected Brookings Institution
to establish its first foray west of the Mississippi: UNLV’s Brookings
Mountain West.

Lucy Klinkhammer is the Associate Vice President for Community Relations with The Lincy Institute. She builds and maintains strategic alliances within the University and among community stakeholders to ensure
success of the Institute. Lucy has more than 20 years of experience in
advancement including nonprofit management, major and annual gift
fundraising, corporate/foundation, alumni and community relations.
Chris Stream is an Associate Professor and Director of the School of
Environmental and Public Affairs Ph.D., Public Administration & Policy.
His research and interest includes intergovernmental relations, public
policy, state and local government, and research design and methods .
Robert Lang
Lang is a Professor in the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, and serves
as the executive director of The Lincy Institute and director of Brookings
Mountain West. Robert Lang is a nationally recognized authority on urban
growth, economic development and population dynamics, including the
interplay between politics and growth in the American West. Lang’s
research specialties include suburban studies, real estate, demographic
and spatial analysis, economic development, and metropolitan policy.
Shannon Monnat
Shannon Monnat is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at UNLV. Her
current research projects reflect the view that social structural inequalities, disparities within the health care system, and individuals’ access to
health care have multiple implications for social, economic, and
environmental sustainability.
Brad Wimmer
Bradley S. Wimmer is a nonresident senior fellow with Economic Studies
and a professor of economics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
(UNLV). His research issues include the associated effects regulation and
deregulation have on the market for telecommunications.
Jessica Word
Jessica Word is an Associate Professor within UNLV’s School of Environmental and Public Affairs (SEPA). She also serve as a Academic Director
of UNLV’s Nonprofit Community Leadership Center. Her research interests include nonprofit management, public management, program
evaluation, organization theory and public policy.
