He received his Bachelor of Science from South Carolina State University. Research Low Temperature Synthesis and Characterization of Binary Technetium Phosphide The chemistry between technetium and phosphorus has been poorly studied in comparison to other elements surrounding it such as molybdenum, rhenium, and ruthenium. Previous studies indicate that binary technetium phosphide only exists through high temperature reactions that exceed 900 °C. Recent phosphide studies have indicated that transition metal phosphide species can be synthesized at temperatures that do not exceed 300 °C, and the plan is to leverage the same capabilities with technetium. Many of the studies will begin with using binary technetium chloride (TcCl2, TcCl3, and TcCl4) species and using those along with different phosphorus sources based on the experimental technique.
